Nach Informationen der Zeitung &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/detnews.com\/\">Detroit News<\/a>&#8221; hat der Autobauer die Geldstrafe von umgerechnet 12,3 Millionen Euro akzeptiert und muss nun innerhalb von 30 Tagen zahlen. F\u00c3\u00a4llig wird die Strafe, weil Toyota die US-Regierung nicht rechtzeitig \u00c3\u00bcber die Probleme mit den Gaspedalen informiert hatte.<\/div>\n<p>   Normalerweise sind Autobauer dazu verpflichtet einen derartig gravierenden Defekt innerhalb von 5 Werktagen zu melden. Toyota ist allerdings \u00c3\u00bcber Monate dieser Informationspflicht nicht nachgekommen und hat geschwiegen. <br \/>Die US-Bundesbeh\u00c3\u00b6rde f\u00c3\u00bcr Stra\u00c3en- und Fahrzeugsicherheit NHTSA hat mit 16,4 Millionen Dollar die h\u00c3\u00b6chste Strafe aller Zeiten verh\u00c3\u00a4ngt, da bislang die h\u00c3\u00b6chste Geldstrafe 1 Million Dollar betrug, die gegen General Motor 2004 verh\u00c3\u00a4ngt wurde.
