Le Secr\u00e9taire G\u00e9n\u00e9ral du GWEC, Steve Sawyer, tr\u00e8s fier de cette performance d\u00e9clare: &quot;Les 120GW de puissance \u00e9olienne mondiale en place \u00e0 la fin 2008&nbsp; <u>produiront 250 TWh<\/u> et <u>\u00e9conomiseront 158 millions de tonnes de CO2 par an<\/u>&quot;. Ces chiffres sont certes impressionnants mais ils m\u00e9ritent d&rsquo;\u00eatre \u00e9talonn\u00e9s. Les 250TWh (ou 57 millions de tonnes \u00e9quivalent p\u00e9trole d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie primaire en tenant compte d&rsquo;un rendement de 38%) ne repr\u00e9sentent qu&rsquo;une infime partie (0,5%) des 12000 millions de tonnes \u00e9quivalents p\u00e9troles d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie primaire consomm\u00e9es dans le monde. C&rsquo;est la moiti\u00e9 de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie \u00e9lectrique nette fournie par les centrales \u00e9lectriques fran\u00e7aises au r\u00e9seau RTE. Quand aux 158 millions de tonnes de CO2 \u00e9conomis\u00e9es il faut les rapporter aux 31 ou 32 milliards de tonnes de CO2 envoy\u00e9s chaque ann\u00e9e dans l&rsquo;azur qui eux aussi repr\u00e9sentent 0,5% des \u00e9missions globales.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; En faisant abstraction du style dithyrambique habituel et assez casse-pieds des communications du milieu \u00e9olien, il est possible de d\u00e9duire que les installations d&rsquo;\u00e9oliennes en place en fin 2008 g\u00e9n\u00e8reront, en 2009, <u>cinq milli\u00e8mes environ de la consommation mondiale d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie<\/u>, ce qui est bien.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Par contre la facture semble assez sal\u00e9e. Toujours d&rsquo;apr\u00e8s le GWEC le march\u00e9 global des installations d&rsquo;\u00e9oliennes a atteint en 2008, la somme rondelette de <u>36,5 milliards d&rsquo;euros<\/u>. Soit un prix moyen des installations de 1,35 millions d&rsquo;euros par MW. Il semblerait que les prix aient bien mont\u00e9 en 2008, accompagnant ainsi une tr\u00e8s forte demande. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; Remarque: pour comparer les investissements \u00e9oliens avec ceux des centrales thermiques \u00e0 flamme ou nucl\u00e9aires il faut tenir compte du taux de charge des installations. Le GWEC prend un taux de charge moyen de 25% (2152 heures par an de fonctionnement \u00e0 la puissance nominale) ce qui repr\u00e9sente le tiers environ de celui d&rsquo;une centrale thermique. Les 1,35 Meuros doivent donc \u00eatre multipli\u00e9s par trois pour comparer l&rsquo;investissement d&rsquo;une installation qui va durer 20 ans \u00e0 celle d&rsquo;une centrale thermique qui est construite pour durer trois fois plus longtemps.
