Il a d\u00e9j\u00e0 construit 23 r\u00e9acteurs \u00e0 eau pressuris\u00e9e au Japon et en poss\u00e8de un 24\u00e8me en chantier. Fort de cette exp\u00e9rience industrielle,&nbsp; MHI qui a fait agr\u00e9er en Mars 2008, une version boost\u00e9e de 1700 MW de son r\u00e9acteur par l&rsquo;autorit\u00e9 de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 am\u00e9ricaine, la NRC, voudrait implanter deux nouveaux r\u00e9acteurs sur un site poss\u00e9d\u00e9 et exploit\u00e9 pas l&rsquo;\u00e9lectricien texan Luminant qui g\u00e9n\u00e8re 2300 MW d&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 nucl\u00e9aire. Luminant applique <u>la recette du p\u00e2t\u00e9 d&rsquo;alouette<\/u>: il produit la majorit\u00e9 de son \u00e9nergie \u00e9lectrique en br\u00fblant du gaz ou du lignite (16000 MW \u00e9lectriques de puissance install\u00e9e) et ach\u00e8te quelques 2000 GWh d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie \u00e9olienne (l&rsquo;alouette) pour satisfaire aux quotas exig\u00e9s par l&rsquo;Etat du Texas. Sur 30 \u00e9lectriciens de cet Etat, il est class\u00e9 27\u00e8me en \u00e9missions de CO2 avec 1040g de CO2 par MWh. Introduire 3400 MW de puissance \u00e9lectrique nucl\u00e9aire suppl\u00e9mentaires dans son mix \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique permettrait \u00e0 cet \u00e9lectricien de r\u00e9duire significativement ses \u00e9missions de CO2 par unit\u00e9 d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie produite et donc de progresser dans ce classement peu brillant.
