Le choix strat\u00e9gique de GM est totalement diff\u00e9rent de celui de ses concurrents japonais ou cor\u00e9ens qui ont cr\u00e9\u00e9 des joint venture avec des fabricants de batteries pour acc\u00e9der \u00e0 la technologie tout en ma\u00eetrisant une diffusion \u00e9ventuelle du produit. GM veut pouvoir acheter des \u00e9l\u00e9ments d&rsquo;accumulateurs, sur la base d&rsquo;une sp\u00e9cification, \u00e0 divers fournisseurs et les assembler lui m\u00eame en batterie. Rappelons qu&rsquo;une batterie d&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9ments de type Li-Ion, outre l&rsquo;assemblage m\u00e9canique et le connectage \u00e9lectrique des \u00e9l\u00e9ments, comprend de multiples dispositifs de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 thermiques et \u00e9lectriques ainsi qu&rsquo;une unit\u00e9 \u00e9lectronique de gestion de chacun des \u00e9l\u00e9ments de la batterie en charge, en d\u00e9charge et tout au long de sa vie. C&rsquo;est donc un syst\u00e8me complexe.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; Ce choix de GM est celui d&rsquo;un leader de march\u00e9 de l&rsquo;automobile traditionnel qui impose ses choix \u00e0 ses sous-traitants. Il n&rsquo;est pas \u00e9vident que ce soit \u00e0 terme, la bonne d\u00e9marche. On peut d\u00e9j\u00e0 pr\u00e9voir que GM sera un jour en concurrence avec Hyundai pour disposer les \u00e9l\u00e9ments Li-Ion produits par LG Chemical en Cor\u00e9e du Sud. Quand \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper une production locale am\u00e9ricaine d&rsquo;accumulateurs qui est l&rsquo;ambition de GM et des responsables de l&rsquo;Administration am\u00e9ricaine, il faudra au pr\u00e9alable s&rsquo;assurer des fournitures de composants cl\u00e9s, aupr\u00e8s d&rsquo;un tr\u00e8s grand nombre de sous-traitants qui sont aujourd&rsquo;hui tous en Asie. Le sud cor\u00e9en LG Chemical se dit bien s\u00fbr favorable \u00e0 venir installer un jour une production d&rsquo;accumulateurs aux Etats-Unis, \u00e0 condition que les volumes de ventes justifient un tel investissement.
