Trois construits au Japon par Mitsubishi Heavy et trois en Cor\u00e9e par Daewoo Shipbuilding. Leurs capacit\u00e9s de transport sont respectivement de 266 et 263 mille m3 de gaz naturel liqu\u00e9fi\u00e9. Les caract\u00e9ristiques principales de ces navires, outre leur gigantisme avec une capacit\u00e9 d&#8217;emport 25% sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle de la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente, sont leur capacit\u00e9 de reliqu\u00e9fier \u00e0 bord les gaz \u00e9vapor\u00e9s, ce qui permet de livrer tout le chargement initial de gaz m\u00eame apr\u00e8s un long parcours jusqu&rsquo;aux USA et leur propulsion par deux moteurs diesel \u00e0 bas r\u00e9gime. Le co\u00fbt de transport du m3 de gaz est ainsi <u>r\u00e9duit de 20 \u00e0 30%.<\/u><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Tout cela est parfait, \u00e0 part que les besoins d&rsquo;importations de gaz aux Etats-Unis vont se r\u00e9duire avec la mont\u00e9e en production des gisements autochtones. Les projets de nouveaux terminaux de liqu\u00e9faction dans le Golfe du Mexique sont abandonn\u00e9s.
