Cette d\u00e9cision confirme l&#039;engagement surprenant, sinon anachronique\u00b0, de Total dans le d\u00e9veloppement de la technologie Silicium cristallin, sp\u00e9cialit\u00e9 majoritairement chinoise ou ta\u00efwanaise. Elle vient \u00e9galement marquer une \u00e9tape importante dans le <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leblogenergie.com\/2009\/11\/sunpower-pris-dans-la-temp%C3%AAte-boursi%C3%A8re-apr%C3%A8s-la-nouvelle-de-manipulations-comptables.html\" target=\"_self\">parcours boursier parfois chaotique<\/a> de cet acteur du photovolta\u00efque mondial.<\/p>\n<p>Il faut reconna\u00eetre que Sunpower, acteur de deuxi\u00e8me division en volume (650 MW\/an et 1 GW semble-t-il \u00e0 la fin de l&#039;ann\u00e9e), situ\u00e9 dans le TOP 20 du business du photovolta\u00efque mondial, ne manque pas d&#039;attraits. C&#039;est le fabricant qui pr\u00e9sente le module (<a href=\"http:\/\/us.sunpowercorp.com\/cs\/BlobServer?blobkey=id&amp;blobwhere=1300257323683&amp;blobheadername2=Content-Disposition&amp;blobheadername1=Content-Type&amp;blobheadervalue2=inline%3B+filename%3Dsp_e19320wh_ds_en_ltr_w_223%252C0.pdf&amp;blobheadervalue1=application%2Fpdf&amp;blobcol=urldata&amp;blobtable=MungoBlobs\" target=\"_blank\">E19 320<\/a>) le plus puissant commercialis\u00e9 au monde avec une puissance \u00e9lectrique nominale de 320 W. Cette performance est atteinte gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l&#039;utilisation de Silicium monocristallin qui permet d&#039;atteindre un taux de conversion en module de 19,6%, associ\u00e9e \u00e0 l&#039;adoption d&#039;un grand format de 5 X 3 pieds de 1,63 m2 qui comprend 96 cellules photovolta\u00efques connect\u00e9es. Sunpower est le premier constructeur qui a compris que <span style=\"color: #0000bf\"><strong>la puissance unitaire des modules est un facteur primordial de r\u00e9duction des co\u00fbts dans les op\u00e9rations de pose des modules sur site<\/strong><\/span> et qui l&#039;a mis en application.<\/p>\n<p>&#160;Par contre avec un co\u00fbt par watt moyen des modules de <span style=\"color: #0000bf\"><strong>1,71 dollar \u00e0 fin 2010<\/strong><\/span> qu&#039;il esp\u00e8re ramener \u00e0 <span style=\"color: #0000bf\"><strong>1,48 dollar par watt \u00e0 la fin de l&#039;ann\u00e9e<\/strong><\/span> la technologie de Sunpower est ch\u00e8re. Il voudrait atteindre 1,08 dollar par watt en 2014, ce qui appara\u00eet bien tardif. First Solar avec sa technologie en couches minces Cd-Te est \u00e0 0,75 dollar par watt et les grands constructeurs chinois en technologie silicium cristallin annoncent d\u00e8s \u00e0 pr\u00e9sent des co\u00fbts autour du dollar par watt.<\/p>\n<p>&#160;Les produits de Sunpower sont donc parfaitement adapt\u00e9s au march\u00e9 des \u00e9quipements domestiques, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 la surface de toiture disponible est souvent restreinte. Ils sont de fa\u00e7on g\u00e9n\u00e9rale tr\u00e8s performants l\u00e0 ou la surface disponible est limit\u00e9e (ex. toiture d&#039;un <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leblogenergie.com\/2009\/09\/le-groupe-casino-passe-commande-de-14-mw-de-modules-solaires-%C3%A0-sunpower.html\" target=\"_self\">centre commercial (Casino)<\/a>, parking, usine) et permettent d&#039;offrir une puissance largement sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle d&#039;une proposition concurrente, ce qui peut \u00eatre un argument orientant le choix vers cette solution. Par contre leur attractivit\u00e9 est moindre dans les fermes solaires disposant de larges espaces, o\u00f9 les prix sont d\u00e9terminants. Pour 2011 cette Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 envisage de r\u00e9partir son chiffre d&#039;affaire \u00e0 parts \u00e9gales entre les deux types de march\u00e9s. Le volume commercialis\u00e9 se situerait entre 800 et 900 MW.<\/p>\n<p>&#160;Bien s\u00fbr rien n&#039;est encore annonc\u00e9 chez Total en termes de rationalisation industrielle et commerciale. L&#039;acquisition d&#039;un acteur cinq fois plus gros que Tenesol, r\u00e9cemment cantonn\u00e9 chez Total, ne sera pas neutre \u00e0 terme sur l&#039;organisation du p\u00f4le solaire du p\u00e9trolier. L&#039;industrie des composants photovolta\u00efques compte un trop grand nombre d&#039;acteurs dans le monde, une rationalisation avec disparition des plus fragiles, va obligatoirement s&#039;imposer.<\/p>\n<p>&#160; L&#039;adossement de Sunpower \u00e0 un tr\u00e8s riche propri\u00e9taire doit lui permettre d&#039;investir dans la construction et l&#039;exploitation de fermes solaires, ce que font certains gros concurrents \u00e0 la recherche d&#039;un nouveau business model plus lucratif et moins cyclique.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b0Remarque: le grand p\u00e9trolier Shell a fait un autre choix que celui de Total en se lan\u00e7ant avec sa filiale japonaise Showa-Shell dans une technologie en couches minces (CIGS) qui pr\u00e9sente de bien plus grandes potentialit\u00e9s en termes de co\u00fbts et de progr\u00e8s techniques.
