D&rsquo;o\u00f9 la recherche par les concepteurs d&rsquo;un mode de stockage de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie thermique solaire disponible quand il fait beau, pour pouvoir en disposer le soir venu par exemple et vendre ainsi son \u00e9nergie \u00e9lectrique \u00e0 un bon tarif, en heure de pointe. Cette extension de la plage horaire de production d&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 de trois ou quatre heures environ dans un premier temps, fait l&rsquo;objet de recherches et de d\u00e9veloppements intenses. Le Department of Energy am\u00e9ricain vient de d\u00e9bloquer 67 millions de dollars pour aider au financement d&rsquo;une quinzaine de projets.<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.thesocialmedia.com\/leblogenergie\/files\/2012\/07\/stockagenergiecimentb_41.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"362\" alt=\"Stockagenergiecimentb_4\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.thesocialmedia.com\/leblogenergie\/files\/2012\/07\/stockagenergiecimentb_4.jpg\" width=\"480\"  \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/clabedan.typepad.com\/photos\/uncategorized\/2008\/10\/04\/stockagenergiecimentb_3.jpg\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/clabedan.typepad.com\/photos\/uncategorized\/2008\/10\/04\/stockagenergiecimentb_2.jpg\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/clabedan.typepad.com\/photos\/uncategorized\/2008\/10\/04\/stockagenergiecimentb.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; Le stockage thermique fait g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement appel l&rsquo;une des trois familles suivantes:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>le stockage de chaleur dans un solide (\u00e9normes blocs de ciment ou de c\u00e9ramiques parcourus par des tubes \u00e9changeurs dans lesquels circule le fluide caloporteur)<\/li>\n<li>le stockage de chaleur dans un liquide (sel fondu)<\/li>\n<li>le stockage utilisant la chaleur latente de transformation entre deux phases. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; Ces syst\u00e8mes, en tampon avec le circuit principal, doivent \u00eatre financi\u00e8rement acceptables et c&rsquo;est peut-\u00eatre l\u00e0 le plus difficile, mais ils doivent \u00eatre aussi compatibles avec les temp\u00e9ratures hypercritiques (600\u00b0C puis plus tard 700\u00b0C) de vapeur d&rsquo;eau pour activer les nouvelles centrales \u00e0 vapeur \u00e0 tr\u00e8s bons rendements. Ces deux contraintes et bien d&rsquo;autres, suffisent \u00e0 rendre le probl\u00e8me tr\u00e8s complexe.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Parmi les projets prim\u00e9s les plus int\u00e9ressants par le DOE citons:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>le projet tr\u00e8s avanc\u00e9 d&rsquo;Abengoa qui veut \u00e9tudier, pour une tour, un syst\u00e8me constitu\u00e9 d&rsquo;un fluide hypercritique et d&rsquo;un stockage thermocline en c\u00e9ramique. Dans le stockage thermocline la source chaude est situ\u00e9e au dessus de la source froide dans la m\u00eame cuve.<\/li>\n<li>le projet de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de New York qui va \u00e9tudier le CO2 comme fluide caloporteur et qui \u00e9changera avec des c\u00e9ramiques \u00e0 tr\u00e8s hautes temp\u00e9ratures<\/li>\n<li>le projet de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;Arkansas qui veut \u00e9tudier des b\u00e9tons supportant des temp\u00e9ratures de 600\u00b0C<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; Mais il y a aussi des sujets tr\u00e8s op\u00e9rationnels comme celui d&rsquo;Acciona (22 M$) qui veut installer un stockage thermique de 4 heures et 800MWt pour l&rsquo;int\u00e9grer dans son usine de 64 MWe de Boulder et qui demande un financement d&rsquo;un prototype (\u00e0 22 M$ le prototype va ressembler \u00e9trangement \u00e0 l&rsquo;unit\u00e9 industrielle!).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Le stockage thermique de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie, sp\u00e9cifique du solaire par concentration, pr\u00e9sente un int\u00e9r\u00eat \u00e9vident d&rsquo;accroissement de la plage d&rsquo;utilisation de la centrale, mais il majore de plusieurs millions de dollars ou d&rsquo;euros l&rsquo;enveloppe d&rsquo;investissement n\u00e9cessaire. Par exemple, un projet de stockage \u00e0 base de blocs de b\u00e9ton serait \u00e9valu\u00e9 aujourd&rsquo;hui aux environs de 10 \u00e0 12 millions d&rsquo;euros pour assurer 50 MW d&rsquo;autonomie pendant trois heures.
