Ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9 original permet donc d&rsquo;obtenir une cellulose tr\u00e8s pure ais\u00e9ment biod\u00e9gradable en sucres eux m\u00eame fermentables en \u00e9thanol. Mais dans ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9 on n&rsquo;exploite que 50% \u00e0 70%&nbsp; de la ressource de bois sec. Pour que le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 soit \u00e9conomiquement rentable, il est donc absolument indispensable de valoriser le sous-produit qui est essentiellement de la lignine pr\u00e9sente \u00e0 hauteur d&rsquo;un tiers en masse du bois sec de peuplier ou de pin. Il semblerait que l&rsquo;industriel du bois am\u00e9ricain Weyerhaeuser qui vient de signer un Memorandum of Understanding avec Lignol, soit int\u00e9ress\u00e9 par la valorisation de ce sous produit qui permettrait de confectionner des panneaux agglom\u00e9r\u00e9s ou des mat\u00e9riaux composites aux propri\u00e9t\u00e9s innovantes. Les deux groupes vont donc \u00e9valuer la faisabilit\u00e9 d&rsquo;une unit\u00e9 industrielle sur un site d&rsquo;exploitation de bois de Weyerhaeuser.
