Mais la v\u00e9rification exp\u00e9rimentale de cette th\u00e9orie, \u00e9mise par Kerry Emanuel (<a href=\"ftp:\/\/texmex.mit.edu\/pub\/emanuel\/PAPERS\/NATURE03906.pdf\">LIRE<\/a> une synth\u00e8se dans Nature publi\u00e9e en 2005), quoiqu&rsquo;elle fasse appel au principe de Carnot, s&rsquo;\u00e9tait av\u00e9r\u00e9e jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent tr\u00e8s difficile \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser en raison de la forte variabilit\u00e9 de ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques ou climatiques secondaires qui influent sur la puissance des cyclones. La th\u00e9orie pr\u00e9voit que la Puissance de dissipation du cyclone est proportionnelle au cube de la vitesse des vents.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Le Professeur James B. Elsner et ses collaborateurs, de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 du Wisconsin-Madison, apr\u00e8s une analyse des relev\u00e9s par satellites concernant les multiples ouragans, typhons et autres cyclones de ces 25 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, se sont focalis\u00e9s sur les <u>vitesses maximales atteintes par les vents<\/u> dans les ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes les plus intenses. En effet ce sont dans les ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes les plus puissants, proches de leur &quot;Maximum Possible Intensity&quot; qui sont les moins alt\u00e9r\u00e9s par d&rsquo;autre ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes, que l&rsquo;on doit se rapprocher le plus de la th\u00e9orie. Ils ont effectivement v\u00e9rifi\u00e9 qu&rsquo;entre 1981 et 2006 les vents les plus violents \u00e9taient pass\u00e9s de 140 \u00e0 156 miles \u00e0 l&rsquo;heure, alors que les temp\u00e9ratures des zones oc\u00e9aniques concern\u00e9es \u00e9taient pass\u00e9es de 28,2\u00b0C \u00e0 28,5\u00b0C durant cette p\u00e9riode. Cependant Elsner a reconnu que: &quot;nous n&rsquo;avons pas encore une compr\u00e9hension compl\u00e8te des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes concernant la mont\u00e9e en intensit\u00e9 de certains cyclones, assez rapide pour certains et qui ne se produit pas pour d&rsquo;autres&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Il faut donc anticiper, comme l&rsquo;a d\u00e9j\u00e0 annonc\u00e9 Emanuel dans Nature, qu&rsquo;avec le r\u00e9chauffement progressif des oc\u00e9ans dans les zones tropicales, <u>les ouragans les plus violents deviendront de plus en plus destructeurs<\/u>. Cela devrait motiver en particulier les Am\u00e9ricains, tr\u00e8s concern\u00e9s par les \u00e9v\u00e8nements dans le Golfe du Mexique, \u00e0 surveiller leurs \u00e9missions de CO2 et \u00e0 en parler aussi \u00e0 leurs amis chinois.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Remarque: la mont\u00e9e en puissance des cyclones n&rsquo;a rien \u00e0 voir avec leur fr\u00e9quence, pour laquelle diverses \u00e9tudes n&rsquo;ont indiqu\u00e9 aucune tendance.
