Ces productions ont entra\u00een\u00e9 l&rsquo;\u00e9mission de <u>158 MT de CO2<\/u>, soit 1,1 tonne de CO2 par MWh thermique produit, ce qui fait de RWE un des grands \u00e9metteurs de CO2 allemands. RWE voudrait lancer un projet industriel de production d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie \u00e9lectrique \u00e0 partir de lignite selon un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 dit <strong><span style=\"color: #3300cc\">IGCC<\/span><\/strong> (Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle) avec capture et s\u00e9questration du CO2. Ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9 \u00e0 cycle combin\u00e9 turbine \u00e0 gaz et turbine \u00e0 vapeur, donc \u00e0 rendement thermodynamique \u00e9lev\u00e9, repose sur la <u>combustion de l&rsquo;hydrog\u00e8ne<\/u> qui serait obtenu \u00e0 partir de la gaz\u00e9ification du lignite en Syngas (CO + H2), suivie d&rsquo;une conversion catalytique du monoxyde en CO2 et de la capture de ce CO2 par un solvant ou autre proc\u00e9d\u00e9. Ce projet concernerait une unit\u00e9 de <span style=\"color: #3300cc\"><strong>450 MW<\/strong> <\/span>qui serait implant\u00e9e pr\u00e8s de Cologne et aliment\u00e9e de lignite local. Un pipe-line permettrait d&rsquo;\u00e9vacuer 90% du CO2 g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 vers un endroit de stockage \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer. RWE estime le co\u00fbt d&rsquo;un tel projet \u00e0 2 milliards d&rsquo;euros. Il pourrait \u00eatre op\u00e9rationnel en 2014, \u00e0 condition que tous les obstacles administratifs et r\u00e8glementaires soient lev\u00e9s dans des d\u00e9lais raisonnables et que le financement soit boucl\u00e9.
