Il dispose d&rsquo;une flotte de 112 navires dont 20% d&rsquo;entre eux ont plus de quinze d&rsquo;\u00e2ge (14 d&rsquo;entre eux ont 20 ans ou plus). Nippon Yusen veut introduire vers 2010 des navires de transport de voitures qui consommeront <u>moiti\u00e9 moins de carburant<\/u> et des porte-conteneurs qui consommeront 30% en moins que les navires actuels. Parmi les divers param\u00e8tres qui permettront d&rsquo;arriver \u00e0 l&rsquo;objectif, <span style=\"color: #3300cc\"><strong>Nippon Oil<\/strong> <\/span>se propose de commercialiser d&rsquo;ici trois \u00e0 cinq ans des syst\u00e8mes solaires de g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 adapt\u00e9s aux navires de commerce. A titre de test les deux Groupes vont installer en fin 2008 un ensemble de panneaux solaire de <strong><span style=\"color: #3300cc\">50kW<\/span><\/strong> sur un transporteur de voiture afin d&rsquo;\u00e9valuer son comportement en dur\u00e9e de vie dans le vent et l&rsquo;eau sal\u00e9e. Ce syst\u00e8me d&rsquo;environ 300 m2 de surface (calcul r\u00e9alis\u00e9 avec un rendement photovolta\u00efque de 17%), pourrait fournir 6,5% de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie \u00e9lectrique du navire et r\u00e9duire ainsi sa consommation de carburant de 2%. C&rsquo;est encore peu mais toute am\u00e9lioration ult\u00e9rieure des rendements photovolta\u00efques serait bonne \u00e0 prendre.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;L&rsquo;objectif de r\u00e9duction des consommations en carburant des navires est un objectif de comp\u00e9titivit\u00e9 \u00e0 la fois pour les chantiers qui construisent les navires mais aussi pour les transporteurs qui exploitent ces navires durant deux \u00e0 trois d\u00e9cennies. Nul doute que sous l&rsquo;effet des prix du p\u00e9trole, les consommations de ce secteur vont \u00eatre, elles aussi, pouss\u00e9es \u00e0 la baisse.
