Sur un ensemble de 33 bassins, l&rsquo;USGS a retenu 25 bassins o\u00f9 la probabilit\u00e9 de trouver du gaz ou du p\u00e9trole \u00e9tait sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 10%. A partir de cette approche probabiliste l&rsquo;organisme a estim\u00e9 les r\u00e9serves globales de gaz et de p\u00e9trole de l&rsquo;Arctique, r\u00e9cup\u00e9rables avec les m\u00e9thodes actuellement d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es, \u00e0 <strong><span style=\"color: #3300cc\">412 milliards de barils<\/span><\/strong>, soit plus de 20% des r\u00e9serves mondiales.
