Ces machines et leur raccordement ont n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 des investissements d&#039;un total de 2,6 milliards d&#039;euros environ, pour une puissance install\u00e9e de 883 MW. Pour 2011 l&#039;EWEA pr\u00e9voit que pour les 10 fermes \u00e9oliennes en cours de construction qui repr\u00e9sentent une puissance de 3000 MW potentiels, ce sont entre le tiers et la moiti\u00e9 des \u00e9oliennes qui seront raccord\u00e9es au r\u00e9seau, soit une puissance de 1000 \u00e0 1500 MW. Ces ordres de grandeur demeurent pour l&#039;instant relativement modestes. Un calcul simple montre que pour un amortissement sur 8 ans (dur\u00e9e raisonnable pour attirer quelques investisseurs qui ne se pressent pas au portillon) et 3500 heures de production au nominal par an en Mer du Nord, soit 28 mille heures au total, il faut <span style=\"color: #bf00bf\"><strong>105 euros\/MWh<\/strong><\/span> pour amortir les pr\u00e8s de 3 Meuros\/MW investis. Si l&#039;on ajoute des frais de maintenance annuelle par \u00e9olienne de 150 mille euros, destin\u00e9s \u00e0 faire grimper par beau temps une \u00e9quipe h\u00e9liport\u00e9e charg\u00e9e de l&#039;entretien pr\u00e9ventif de la machine, ce qui repr\u00e9sentent dans les 15 euros\/MWh c&#039;est un <span style=\"color: #bf00bf\"><strong>total de 120 euros\/MWh<\/strong><\/span>, hors frais financiers, qui sont n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 amortir et maintenir une installation durant les huit premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>&#160;Ces montants sont deux fois trop \u00e9lev\u00e9s pour rendre l&#039;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 \u00e9olienne offshore rentable. Il appara\u00eet comme n\u00e9cessaire de diviser par deux les investissements n\u00e9cessaires par MW. L&#039;accroissement de la taille moyenne des turbines vers les 6 MW * dans un premier temps est une voie \u00e0 suivre. Leur production et leur implantation sur site selon un mode industriel reproductible et optimis\u00e9 semble \u00eatre \u00e9galement indispensable pour atteindre une fen\u00eatre d&#039;investissement comprise entre un et 1,5 Meuros\/MW. Ces tarifs doivent \u00eatre obtenus malgr\u00e9 l&#039;\u00e9loignement progressif des champs des c\u00f4tes et donc de l&#039;allongement des lignes de raccordement au r\u00e9seau.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000bf\"><strong>*Remarque<\/strong><\/span>: La d\u00e9cision de Siemens, leader mondial incontest\u00e9 de l&#039;\u00e9olien offshore, de s&#039;installer dans le port de Hull, au nord-ouest de l&#039;Angleterre, pour industrialiser sa future \u00e9olienne offshore direct drive de 6 MW confirme cette \u00e9volution n\u00e9cessaire vers les plus fortes puissances des turbines. Cette nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration qui permettrait de passer de 3,6 MW \u00e0 6 MW sera test\u00e9e dans le port de Withington au sud de Manchester.
