Une groupe de japonais Chisso (50%), Nippon Mining (30%) et Toho Titanium (20%) viennent de cr\u00e9er un joint venture pour industrialiser un ancien proc\u00e9d\u00e9 industriel r\u00e9nov\u00e9 de production de Silicium polycristallin qui repose sur la r\u00e9duction du tetrachlorosilane par le Zinc en phase vapeur. Ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9 initialement d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 par DuPont avait \u00e9t\u00e9 abandonn\u00e9 en raison des probl\u00e8mes pos\u00e9s par le chlorure de Zinc, produit par la r\u00e9action. Ces probl\u00e8mes seraient apparemment r\u00e9solus ce qui conduirait \u00e0 un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 plus simple et moins on\u00e9reux que le pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent et produisantant un Silicium de qualit\u00e9 acceptable par l&rsquo;industrie des cellules solaires. Une usine japonaise dont la construction sera d\u00e9marr\u00e9e au mois de Juillet devrait commencer \u00e0 produire \u00e0 l&rsquo;automne 2010.
