Compte tenu des prix du gazole \u00e0 la pompe et des probl\u00e8mes financiers de certains transporteurs routiers, cette approche n&rsquo;est pas d\u00e9nu\u00e9e de pertinence. Mercedes a fait rouler un de ses camions Actros de 40 tonnes, sur le circuit de Nardo dans le Sud italien, durant 7 jours \u00e0 80 km\/h de moyenne en tractant une charge de 25 tonnes. Ce camion, dans ces conditions id\u00e9ales, a parcouru pr\u00e8s de 13000 km en consommant moins de 20 litres aux cent kilom\u00e8tres (19,44 litres\/100 km). Bien s\u00fbr il \u00e9tait \u00e9quip\u00e9 de tous les raffinements a\u00e9rodynamiques, de toutes les aides \u00e0 la conduite et surtout, sur un circuit, il a roul\u00e9 \u00e0 vitesse constante et il n&rsquo;a rencontr\u00e9 aucun embouteillage. Dans des conditions courantes il aurait consomm\u00e9 au moins 30 litres\/ 100 km.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Ce r\u00e9sultat montre que l&rsquo;objectif des 20 litres aux cent kilom\u00e8tres n&rsquo;est pas illusoire pour un camion de 40 tonnes. Il suffit de le faire rouler \u00e0 vitesse constante et de lui \u00e9viter les \u00e9pisodes d&rsquo;arr\u00eats-d\u00e9marrages. D&rsquo;apr\u00e8s Mercedes 2 arr\u00eats d\u00e9marages par kilom\u00e8tre multiplient par trois la consommation du camion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; La premi\u00e8re m\u00e9thode pour tendre vers ces conditions id\u00e9ales, consiste \u00e0 proposer un r\u00e9seau routier exempt de bouchons, en particulier \u00e0 l&rsquo;approche des grandes villes. Un grand plan \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique europ\u00e9en devrait, parmi des centaines d&rsquo;autres mesures, recenser les lieux critiques de formation de bouchons routiers et \u00e9tablir avec les pays concern\u00e9s des plans de r\u00e9sorption de ces goulots. La France, lieu de passage de cohortes de poids lourds, devrait y tenir un des tout premiers rangs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; L&rsquo;autre approche compl\u00e9mentaire est le <span style=\"color: #3300cc\"><strong>camion hybride<\/strong> <\/span>qui utiliserait l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9e au freinage et celle des gaz chaud d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement (par effet thermo\u00e9lectrique) pour maintenir en charge un syst\u00e8me batterie qui assurerait les phases d&rsquo;acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration au d\u00e9marrage des camions. Cette mesure pourrait \u00eatre g\u00e9n\u00e9ralis\u00e9e avec succ\u00e8s aux bus en milieu urbain.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; Ces mesures sur les infrastructures routi\u00e8res et sur l&rsquo;hybridation des poids lourds, coupl\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;utilisation de trains de pneumatiques optimis\u00e9s et autres raffinements devraient permettre d&rsquo;atteindre l&rsquo;objectif de 20 litres de carburant aux 100 km. Un tel score permettrait de faire \u00e9conomiser annuellement \u00e0 un camion roulant 1600 km\/jour pendant 225 jours par an, dans les 36000 litres de gazole, soit \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s autant d&rsquo;euros.
