Huber sur ce sujet). La plupart de ces proc\u00e9d\u00e9s, sous l&rsquo;influence de la politique am\u00e9ricaine du moment et de ses aides financi\u00e8res, conduisent \u00e0 de l&rsquo;\u00e9thanol. Jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent il \u00e9tait possible de distinguer au moins deux grandes familles de proc\u00e9d\u00e9s : l&rsquo;une purement chimique avec production de syngas (CO +H2) suivie d&rsquo;une polym\u00e9risation Fischer-Tropsch; l&rsquo;autre essentiellement biologique avec une premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape de d\u00e9gradation de la structure ligneuse ou d&rsquo;extraction de la cellulose, suivie d&rsquo;une conversion enzymatique en sucres puis en alcool. L&rsquo;am\u00e9ricain Coskata, soutenu par General Motors qui joue la carte des bio carburants et des options Flex-fuel, propose un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 hybride qui repose sur une production de syngas qui va servir par la suite, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une fermentation ana\u00e9robie avec une bact\u00e9rie issue de ses s\u00e9lections, \u00e0 produire de l&rsquo;\u00e9thanol.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Coskata a compris une chose importante: il faut que l&rsquo;\u00e9thanol produit qui poss\u00e8de un pouvoir \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique inf\u00e9rieur \u00e0 celui de l&rsquo;essence, pr\u00e9sente un prix de vente inf\u00e9rieur \u00e0 celui de l&rsquo;essence pour \u00eatre comp\u00e9titif. Le prix du E85 (85% d&rsquo;\u00e9thanol) doit \u00eatre inf\u00e9rieur \u00e0 celui de l&rsquo;essence. Il se fixe donc pour objectif de produire de l&rsquo;\u00e9thanol \u00e0 moins d&rsquo;un dollar le gallon, hors amortissement des installations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; Pour ce nouveau venu dans l&rsquo;industrie, la taille id\u00e9ale pour une installation de ce type serait une unit\u00e9 de 40 \u00e0 50 millions de gallons par an, soit 3000 barils par jour, qui n\u00e9cessiterait 1000 tonnes de bois sec par jour environ. Pour m\u00e9moire la consommation d&rsquo;essence am\u00e9ricaine est sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 10 millions de barils par jour.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Il ne semble pas que Coskata soit industriellement tr\u00e8s avanc\u00e9, il para\u00eet en&nbsp; \u00eatre encore au niveau de l&rsquo;optimisation de ses bact\u00e9ries en laboratoire. Mais l&rsquo;aide financi\u00e8re de GM lui sera d&rsquo;un secours pr\u00e9cieux pour acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer son d\u00e9veloppement industriel qui devrait le conduire \u00e0 l&rsquo;ouverture d&rsquo;une premi\u00e8re usine de validation industrielle en 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Voir <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coskata.com\/process_movie.html\">l&rsquo;animation du proc\u00e9d\u00e9<\/a>.
