La r\u00e9alisation de batteries de type Lithium-Ion de grande qualit\u00e9 est une des cl\u00e9s du succ\u00e9s de cette strat\u00e9gie. Elle repose en particulier sur la disponibilit\u00e9 de mat\u00e9riaux de tr\u00e8s haute puret\u00e9 et aux caract\u00e9ristiques physicochimiques complexes. Parmi ceux-ci, les plus complexes et les plus on\u00e9reux sont les oxydes m\u00e9talliques lithi\u00e9s de type LiNiO2, LiCoO2 ou LiMn2O4 ou encore plus sophistiqu\u00e9s qui mettent en oeuvre plusieurs de ces m\u00e9taux. Bien s\u00fbr, compte tenu de la disponibilit\u00e9 et des prix du Cobalt ce produit n&rsquo;est pas acceptable pour l&rsquo;application automobile. Ces produits de nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration ont \u00e9t\u00e9 brevet\u00e9s, entre autres, par Mitsubishi Chemical et par Argonne National Laboratories du Department of Energy. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Ce laboratoire US vient d&rsquo;accorder une <u>licence non exclusive<\/u> au japonais <span style=\"color: #3300cc\"><strong>Toda Kogyo<\/strong> <\/span>qui est surtout connu au Japon pour ses productions d&rsquo;oxydes de Fer base de nombreux pigments et aux propri\u00e9t\u00e9s magn\u00e9tiques largement utilis\u00e9es. Il semblerait que Toda Kogyo qui produit du LiNiO2 au Japon et qui a achet\u00e9 l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 produits pour batteries de l&rsquo;Allemand H.C. Starck, dont l&rsquo;usine de Sarnia au Canada qui produit de l&rsquo;hydroxyde de Nickel sph\u00e9rique, veuille \u00e9tendre son activit\u00e9 \u00e0 ces nouveaux produits composites. Il aurait m\u00eame l&rsquo;intention de produire aux USA, dans une usine acquise dans la r\u00e9gion de <strong><span style=\"color: #3300cc\">Detroit<\/span><\/strong> pour mieux servir les besoins des industries automobiles locales.
