Ces batteries 24V, 40 \u00e0 50 Ah sont d&rsquo;une grande fiabilit\u00e9 et ont assur\u00e9 des millions d&rsquo;heures de vol. Cependant pour les avions modernes, leur masse est un handicap. Les nouveaux programmes Boeing 787 Dreamliner et Airbus A350 dans leur recherche de r\u00e9duction de masse vont donc faire appel \u00e0 des batteries de type Lithium-Ion qui pr\u00e9sentent des \u00e9nergies massiques de l&rsquo;ordre de 100Wh\/kg, trois fois sup\u00e9rieures aux produits traditionnels. Les accumulateurs&nbsp; Li-Ion sont plus l\u00e9gers que ceux de type Ni-Cd \u00e0 \u00e9nergie \u00e9gale, en raison essentiellement de leur tension qui est trois fois sup\u00e9rieure. C&rsquo;est le Groupe GS-Yuasa qui avait \u00e9t\u00e9 retenu en 2005 avec Thal\u00e8s sur le programme Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Saft vient donc de prendre sa revanche en se faisant qualifier sur le programme A350.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Commercialement une qualification d&rsquo;une batterie a\u00e9ronautique assure un chiffre d&rsquo;affaire pour plusieurs d\u00e9cennies, correspondant \u00e0 la dur\u00e9e de vie du type d&rsquo;avion.
