La gestion des r\u00e9seaux \u00e9lectriques rendu de plus en plus complexe par une part croissante d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie \u00e9olienne en Europe, entra\u00eenant des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes de congestion sur le r\u00e9seau ou inversement des manques de puissance, fait appel \u00e0 des syst\u00e8mes de stockage d&rsquo;\u00e9nergies instantan\u00e9ment mobilisables. Parmi ces formes de stockages, plus ou moins d\u00e9centralis\u00e9s, on peut mentionner le pompage des eaux en amont d&rsquo;un barrage alimentant une centrale, les projets de stockage adiabatique d&rsquo;air comprim\u00e9 dans des poches creus\u00e9es dans les gisements de sel, les sels fondus associ\u00e9s au solaire par concentration, les stockages \u00e9lectrochimiques ou chimiques de type batteries et autres syst\u00e8mes r\u00e9versibles.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; Mais, parmi toutes ces possibilit\u00e9s avec leurs avantages et leurs gros inconv\u00e9nients, il existe aussi le stockage par volant d&rsquo;inertie.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; Jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 peu de temps ce stockage relativement limit\u00e9 en puissance et en \u00e9nergie \u00e9tait cantonn\u00e9 dans de petites applications d&rsquo;unit\u00e9s de fourniture d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie locale (UPS) en secours de l&rsquo;alimentation principale en comp\u00e9tition avec les syst\u00e8mes batteries \u00e9lectrochimiques.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; Mais depuis peu aux USA sont apparus des produits de plus grande puissance tels que le &quot;Smart Energy 25&quot; de <span style=\"color: #3300cc\"><strong>Beacon Power<\/strong> <\/span>qui d\u00e9veloppe une <strong><span style=\"color: #3300cc\">\u00e9nergie de 25 kWh et une puissance de 100 kW<\/span><\/strong>. Il pr\u00e9sente donc une autonomie \u00e0 puissance d\u00e9livr\u00e9e proche du maximum de 15 minutes.&nbsp; Un tel produit peut \u00eatre mis en parall\u00e8le avec de dizaines de produits identiques pour g\u00e9n\u00e9rer autant de MW que de dizaines. Il va donc pouvoir r\u00e9guler la puissance d&rsquo;un r\u00e9seau et am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie fournie dans une sous-station fragilis\u00e9e d&rsquo;un r\u00e9seau global. Leur rendement \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique est de l&rsquo;ordre de 85%, les pertes se produisant essentiellement dans la partie \u00e9nergie de puissance associ\u00e9e.
