Ce compos\u00e9 poss\u00e8de la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 de transformer les rayons UV du spectre solaire (250 \u00e0 500 nm) peu efficaces dans l&rsquo;effet photo\u00e9lectrique, en rayons fluorescents dans la partie visible autour de 750 nm, longueur d&rsquo;onde tr\u00e8s efficace pour la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de courant photovolta\u00efque. Cet Institut s&rsquo;est associ\u00e9 avec Sanvic Inc., un fabricant japonais de mat\u00e9riaux de scellement de cellules solaires, pour fabriquer des panneaux solaires et tester leur efficacit\u00e9 et leur dur\u00e9e de vie. Les premiers r\u00e9sultats mettent en \u00e9vidence un gain en rendement de conversion de 1,75 points.
