Ce champ g\u00e9ant est le m\u00eame que celui exploit\u00e9 par le Qatar, le plus grand producteur de gaz du monde, et qui en poss\u00e8de la plus grande part. C&rsquo;est \u00e0 partir de ces ressources, aid\u00e9 par Exxon, Shell et Conoco-Phillips, que le Qatar va livrer son GNL dans toute l&rsquo;Asie avec des m\u00e9thaniers g\u00e9ants, les Q-Flex cor\u00e9ens, qui peuvent embarquer jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 216000 m3 de gaz liquide. C&rsquo;est \u00e9galement avec le gaz de ce <u>North Field<\/u> que le Qatar alimente ses usines Oryx de synth\u00e8se de produits p\u00e9troliers par le <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leblogenergie.com\/2007\/10\/la-formidable-a.html\">proc\u00e9d\u00e9 GTL<\/a> et qui lui permet de pr\u00e9voir de futurs d\u00e9veloppements dans ce domaine avec Shell (projet Pearl).
