Cette Commission qui a commenc\u00e9 ses travaux en 2005 doit remettre ses conclusions au Congr\u00e8s en Janvier 2008. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Constatant la saturation des autoroutes dans certaines zones et l&rsquo;encombrement des a\u00e9roports, elle ferait un certain nombre de recommandations en termes de d\u00e9veloppement de transport ferroviaire. Pour elle ce mode de transport est s\u00fbr, \u00e9conome en \u00e9nergie et bien adapt\u00e9 \u00e0 une partie de la population vieillissante.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; La Commission recommanderait que ces infrastructures ferroviaires soient manag\u00e9es par les Etats avec une aide f\u00e9d\u00e9rale \u00e0 hauteur de 80%. C&rsquo;est le ratio utilis\u00e9 pour les autoroutes. Le projet serait d\u00e9coup\u00e9 en trois phases:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>jusqu&rsquo;en 2015 : construire une partie de la ligne de train rapide dans le Corridor de Californie et la liaison Milwaukee-Madison, Wisconsin, au Nord de Chicago (co\u00fbt: 66 mds$)<\/li>\n<li>jusqu&rsquo;en 2030 \u00e9tendre la ligne californienne jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 Las Vegas; r\u00e9aliser la liaison Tulsa &#8211; Saint louis ou Salt Lake &#8211; Boise. Co\u00fbt : 159 mds$<\/li>\n<li>jusqu&rsquo;en 2050 \u00e9tendre le r\u00e9seau \u00e0 Cincinnati, Raleigh, Greenville. Co\u00fbt: 132 mds$.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; Il y aurait l\u00e0 une vraie r\u00e9volution des mentalit\u00e9s am\u00e9ricaines, si de tels projets aboutissaient. Il est cependant difficile d&rsquo;imaginer des gares en centre ville en raison du large \u00e9talement des villes am\u00e9ricaines. Elles pourraient voir le jour aux abords des a\u00e9roports pour remplacer les petits et innombrables &quot;commuters&quot; qui encombrent les grands a\u00e9roports.
