Il est connu, surtout au Japon et en Chine, comme un possible carburant obtenu par synth\u00e8se, \u00e0 partir de gaz ou de charbon. De plus, il serait possible que sa synth\u00e8se \u00e0 partir de cellulose, soit un jour rendue possible. C&rsquo;est un futur candidat au remplacement du gasoil dans les v\u00e9hicules diesel.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; C&rsquo;est un gaz, liquide \u00e0 -26\u00b0C, aux propri\u00e9t\u00e9s voisines de celles du Propane. Son \u00e9nergie massique est plus faible que celle du Propane, mais comme il est plus dense \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tat liquide que ce dernier, son \u00e9nergie volumique est tr\u00e8s voisine de celle du Propane. C&rsquo;est donc un gaz ais\u00e9ment liqu\u00e9fiable qui peut \u00eatre conditionn\u00e9 en bouteilles ou en cuves comme le Butane ou le Propane. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Il pr\u00e9sente aussi une caract\u00e9ristique physique tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressante: il poss\u00e8de un indice d&rsquo;octane \u00e9lev\u00e9 ce qui permet de l&rsquo;utiliser dans un moteur diesel en substitution du gasoil. Il n&rsquo;est pas corrosif, il n&rsquo;est pas agressif vis \u00e0 vis de la couche d&rsquo;ozone.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; Sa synth\u00e8se traditionnelle est r\u00e9alis\u00e9e \u00e0 partir du m\u00e9thanol. Le <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leblogenergie.com\/2007\/10\/exxon-ou-total-.html\">Groupe Total<\/a> est associ\u00e9 \u00e0 ce projet. En Chine, une unit\u00e9 pilote de production \u00e0 partir de charbon est implant\u00e9e \u00e0 Shangai. Un projet industriel, de 210000 tonnes par an, aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9 avec le japonais Toyo Engineering dans le Ningxia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; D&rsquo;apr\u00e8s Total, ce produit pourrait \u00eatre int\u00e9ressant lors de l&rsquo;exploitation de gisements gazeux de faibles tailles qui ne permettent pas de financer un gazoduc ou une unit\u00e9 de liqu\u00e9faction de type GNL.
