La Chine d&rsquo;autre part produit 600 millions de tonnes de paille. Il faut aussi prendre en compte que la mise en place de ce syst\u00e8me permet l&rsquo;exploitation de ressources de biomasse d\u00e9laiss\u00e9es. Souvent des terres ruin\u00e9es en effet sont incapables de porter autre chose que des &quot;r\u00e9coltes&quot; d&rsquo;herbes sans valeur, mais \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiquement int\u00e9ressantes. <br \/>On comprend en entendant ces chiffres, que ce qui est en cause est finalement diff\u00e9rent de la civilisation p\u00e9trole. En effet, depuis le 18\u00b0 si\u00e9cle, ce qui a promu les \u00e9nergies fossiles,<\/p>\n<p>c&rsquo;est qu&rsquo;elles n\u00e9cessitent peu de main d&rsquo;oeuvre. D&rsquo;abord avec le charbon, m\u00eame si celui-ci \u00e9tait plus vorace que le p\u00e9trole en facteur humain, marquait d\u00e9j\u00e0 une d\u00e9croissance par rapport au syst\u00e9me ant\u00e9rieur, et avec gaz et p\u00e9trole, on arrive \u00e0 des cohortes tr\u00e9s r\u00e9duites d&rsquo;une main d&rsquo;oeuvre tr\u00e9s qualifi\u00e9e, d\u00e9mographiquement compl\u00e9tement ridicule : par exemple les 20 000 employ\u00e9s de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pdvsa.com\/\">PDVSA<\/a>, la compagnie p\u00e9troli\u00e8re v\u00e9n\u00e9zuelienne permettait de produire 40 % du Pib. Ce qui permet la venue de soci\u00e9t\u00e9s tr\u00e9s in\u00e9galitaires. Il n&rsquo;est pas \u00e9tonnant d&rsquo;ailleurs que le n\u00e9olib\u00e9ralisme se soit d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 dans une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 p\u00e9troli\u00e9re. Le cas le plus typique est la Grande-Bretagne, o\u00f9 le triomphe Tatch\u00e9rien a \u00e9t\u00e9 concomitant \u00e0 la mise en place du complexe p\u00e9trole\/gaz. <br \/>D&rsquo;ailleurs, il est visible aussi avec l&rsquo;EPR : pour la m\u00eame somme d&rsquo;argent (3.3 milliards d&rsquo;euros) pr\u00e9vu, on cr\u00e9erait dix fois plus d&#8217;emploi et autant d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie avec le renouvelable. Mais le renouvelable n&rsquo;est pas une \u00e9nergie facile \u00e0 manipuler.
