Aujourd&rsquo;hui, on n&rsquo;imagine pas les temps de transports, ni les conditions de vie de nos anc\u00eatres pas si lointain. Pas de routes, pas d&rsquo;\u00e9changes, pas de surplus \u00e0 exp\u00e9dier, et en cas de mauvaises r\u00e9coltes pas de secours \u00e0 attendre. Il \u00e9tait plus facile de faire 1000 kilom\u00e9tres en navire que 10 par les mauvaises routes. Les rares auteurs populaires du 18\u00b0si\u00e9cle en parlent comme d&rsquo;un probl\u00e8me lancinant.&nbsp; La moindre&nbsp; voie d&rsquo;eau utilisable \u00e9tait dot\u00e9e d&rsquo;un port.&nbsp; Paris et Orl\u00e9ans \u00e9taient des ports importants.&nbsp; La d\u00e9couverte de&nbsp; Macadam permit de doter le pays de routes en bon \u00e9tat, toujours <\/p>\n<p>praticables. Aujourd&rsquo;hui, n\u00e9anmoins se pose la question, avec l&rsquo;ench\u00e9rissement du co\u00fbt de l&rsquo;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.asphaltes.org\/apropos2.html\">asphalte<\/a>, du simple maintien du r\u00e9seau actuel. Beaucoup de voies rurales ont \u00e9t\u00e9 laiss\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;abandon, et on assiste au recul, plus ou moins marqu\u00e9, des voies. Je me rappelle avoir mesur\u00e9 la r\u00e9tractation d&rsquo;une route : un m\u00eatre de chaque cot\u00e9, en une vingtaine d&rsquo;ann\u00e9es. Un maire m&rsquo;avait, \u00e0 l&rsquo;occasion parl\u00e9 d&rsquo;un nouveau proc\u00e9d\u00e9, plus \u00e9conomique (de moiti\u00e9) et surtout, sans d\u00e9riv\u00e9 de p\u00e9trole. Prudent, il attendait que les autres tentent l&rsquo;aventure pour tester la fiabilit\u00e9, mais en attendait beaucoup (les routes sont en communes rurales une charge tr\u00e9s lourde). Ce nouveau bitume (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.colas.fr\/produits\/fichetec.asp?fiche=C42.xml&amp;fds=produit1.xsl&amp;nomprod=VEGECOL\">V\u00e9g\u00e9col<\/a>), semble tenir ses promesses. Bonnes performances m\u00e9caniques dans de nombreuses applications (routes, parking, pistes cyclables), en utilisant les granulats locaux (limitant donc les frais de transport), et ne n\u00e9cessitant une temp\u00e9rature d&rsquo;application de 110\u00b0, au lieu de 150. Transparent, la pollution visuelle est nulle, comme la pollution d&rsquo;ailleurs (pas d&rsquo;utilisation de proc\u00e9d\u00e9 p\u00e9trochimique).
