En effet, pour un litre d&rsquo;\u00e9thanol, il faut :<br \/>&#8211; 2.37 kg de ma\u00efs,<br \/>&#8211; 500 grammes de charbon,<br \/>&#8211; 4 litres d&rsquo;eau.<br \/>De plus, il faut compter, en sus :<br \/>&#8211; les intrants pour la production des engrais et pesticides,<br \/>&#8211; 500 \u00e0 1500 litres d&rsquo;eau pour produire 1 kg de ma\u00efs. Soit de 1200 \u00e0 3600 litres d&rsquo;eau par litre d&rsquo;\u00e9thanol. <\/p>\n<p>Rien de nouveau, donc, mais la confirmation scientifique de ce qu&rsquo;on savait d\u00e9j\u00e0 : certaines plantes ne sont pas faites pour fabriquer de l&rsquo;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ethanol.org\/\">\u00e9thanol<\/a>, seul la canne \u00e0 sucre s&rsquo;y pr\u00eate vraiment. Le probl\u00e8me est le m\u00eame avec le bl\u00e9, et beaucoup d&rsquo;autres sources. De telles sources d&rsquo;\u00e9thanol, voudrait dire, que l&rsquo;on va r\u00e9duire drastiquement le parc automobile (de l&rsquo;ordre de 90 %) pour ne le r\u00e9server qu&rsquo;aux plus ais\u00e9s, ou serve simplement d&rsquo;outil de stabilisation des cours.<br \/>En ce qui concerne la canne \u00e0 sucre, l&rsquo;accent est mis \u00e0 certains endroits sur l&#8217;emploi d&rsquo;une main d&rsquo;oeuvre quasi-esclavagis\u00e9e, d\u00e9cim\u00e9e par des conditions de travail \u00e9pouvantable, notamment en Colombie, dans une moindre mesure au Br\u00e9sil.<br \/>Les probl\u00e8mes de concurrence entre alimentation humaine et \u00e9thanol, vont clairement se poser. D&rsquo;abord pour le ma\u00efs (les 25 kg sont pass\u00e9s de 1.85 $ \u00e0 4.05 $ en 15 mois), et la production de bl\u00e9 est en recul, parfois consid\u00e9rable (elle s&rsquo;effondre en Australie de plus de moiti\u00e9). De plus, m\u00eame aux Usa, cette substitution risque poser des probl\u00e8mes alimentaires (toutes les productions animales sont nourries au ma\u00efs).<br \/>Donc le n\u00e9cro-carburant, pose plus de probl\u00e8me qu&rsquo;il n&rsquo;en r\u00e9soud. Voire, risque de cr\u00e9er de nouvelles \u00e9meutes de la faim.
