Ces derniers repr\u00e9sentent aujourd&#039;hui 20% des extractions de gaz am\u00e9ricaines, en 2035 le CERA pronostique qu&#039;elles devraient repr\u00e9senter 50% des volumes de gaz naturel extraits du sous-sol. Dans le m\u00eame temps, en raison du prix de revient faible de ce gaz (5$\/MMBTU), de sa bonne performance \u00e9cologique compar\u00e9e \u00e0 celle du charbon par une r\u00e9duction de moiti\u00e9 au moins des \u00e9manations de CO2 et de la flexibilit\u00e9 de sa mise en oeuvre en backup des \u00e9nergies renouvelables, l&#039;utilisation du gaz naturel pour produire de l&#039;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 aux Etats-Unis devrait doubler.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.thesocialmedia.com\/leblogenergie\/files\/2012\/07\/6a00d83451b18369e20120a9251bcc970b-pi.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Monde-gas-shale\" class=\"asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d83451b18369e20120a9251bcc970b \" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.thesocialmedia.com\/leblogenergie\/files\/2012\/07\/6a00d83451b18369e20120a9251bcc970b-450wi.jpg\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Ce que pronostique le CERA pour les Etats-Unis est \u00e9galement valable pour de vastes r\u00e9gions du monde qui vont avoir de plus en plus acc\u00e8s au gaz naturel provenant de sources les plus diverses. Soit issu de gisements classiques (Europe, Russie, Moyen-Orient, Afrique, Australie) avec un acheminement par gazoduc ou sous forme de GNL. La liqu\u00e9faction pourra \u00eatre r\u00e9alis\u00e9e \u00e0 bord de navires usines pour les gisements offshores (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.leblogenergie.com\/2009\/10\/le-gaz-naturel-de-par-son-abondance-et-de-son-%C3%A9nergie-par-tonne-de-co2-devrait-simposer-comme-la-pre.html\" title=\"offshore\">LIRE<\/a>). Soit issu de schistes qui sont largement abondants dans le monde (FIG.). Tous les continents disposent d&#039;immenses gisements de schistes susceptibles de se transformer en d&#039;immenses ressources prouv\u00e9es de gaz naturel. Outre la Russie, l&#039;Am\u00e9rique du Sud, l&#039;Afrique et l&#039;Australie il est important de noter que la Chine dispose de larges r\u00e9serves de schistes qui pourraient lui servir un jour de ressource \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique moins polluante que le charbon utilis\u00e9 massivement aujourd&#039;hui.<\/p>\n<p>Parmi les modes d&#039;utilisation de ce gaz naturel, c&#039;est bien s\u00fbr la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d&#039;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 coupl\u00e9e aux \u00e9nergies renouvelables qui est la principale candidate.
