Le choix d&#039;un fournisseur Cor\u00e9en (LG Chemical) par General Motors pour ses futurs v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques avait port\u00e9 un s\u00e9rieux coup au moral des \u00e9quipes Hitachi en 2009 et lanc\u00e9 une op\u00e9ration de remise en cause de l&#039;organisation de grande ampleur. Le voila donc qui revient \u00e0 la charge avec un \u00e9l\u00e9ment prismatique Li-Ion de 25Ah (90Wh) d\u00e9fini pour les applications hybrides rechargeables (FIG.). Ce produit est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par l&#039;adoption d&#039;un s\u00e9parateur de type c\u00e9ramique particuli\u00e8rement r\u00e9sistant \u00e0 chaud et donc apportant une large s\u00e9curit\u00e9 d&#039;utilisation. Ses \u00e9nergies massiques (120 Wh\/kg) et volumiques (187 Wh\/litre) n&#039;ont rien d&#039;exceptionnelles. Hitachi annonce une puissance instantan\u00e9e de 2,4 kW au kilogramme impressionnante (70C) mais qu&#039;il est difficile de comparer aux produits concurrents, la dur\u00e9e de la d\u00e9charge n&#039;\u00e9tant pas pr\u00e9cis\u00e9e. Ce produit sera \u00e9chantillonn\u00e9 dans le courant du premier trimestre.
