Ces unit\u00e9s (FIG.) qui peuvent engloutir quotidiennement 2000 tonnes de poudre de charbon chacune seront destin\u00e9es, entre autres, \u00e0 alimenter en syngas (CO + H2) une centrale \u00e9lectrique de type IGCC (Integrated Gas Combined Cycle) pour le Teylorville Energy Center situ\u00e9 dans l&#039;Illinois. Cette unit\u00e9 qui devrait produire 700 MW de puissance \u00e9lectrique, devrait \u00eatre \u00e9quip\u00e9e d&#039;une unit\u00e9 de captage et de s\u00e9questration (CCS) destin\u00e9e \u00e0 pi\u00e9ger au moins <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">50% du CO2 produit<\/span> lors de la formation du syngas et de sa conversion en m\u00e9lange CO2 + H2. Ce taux de captage am\u00e8nerait le niveau de rejets de CO2 vers celui d&#039;une centrale au gaz naturel. Elle devrait \u00eatre op\u00e9rationnelle en 2014.
