Le gaz carbonique d&#039;abord, mais aussi le mercure, les oxydes d&#039;azote et les produits soufr\u00e9s sont concern\u00e9s. Quand aux p\u00e9troliers, comme <strong><span>BP<\/span><\/strong>, qui doivent imp\u00e9rativement accro\u00eetre le taux de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration de p\u00e9trole de leurs gisements, ils disposent d&#039;une panoplie de technologies parmi lesquelles figure l&#039;injection de dioxyde de carbone pour fluidifier le p\u00e9trole sous-terrain et le rendre ainsi extractible. L&#039;alliance du charbonnier et du p\u00e9trolier \u00e9tait donc \u00e9vidente.&#160;BP et Rio Tinto&#160;ont donc cr\u00e9\u00e9 une JV pour mettre en place dans le Comt\u00e9 de Kern, haut lieu du p\u00e9trole plus que centenaire Californien, une centrale \u00e9lectrique aliment\u00e9e au coke de p\u00e9trole ou au charbon qui a re\u00e7u 308 M$ d&#039;aides de l&#039;Administration am\u00e9ricaine (<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.thesocialmedia.com\/leblogenergie\/files\/2012\/07\/bp-fringuant-dans-le-petrole-rame-dans-les-energies-renouvelables.html_.png\" title=\"BP-Rio Tinto\">LIRE<\/a>). La conception et la r\u00e9alisation de cette centrale de 250 MW vont \u00eatre confi\u00e9es \u00e0 <strong><span>GE Energy<\/span><\/strong> qui propose une unit\u00e9 \u00e0 Gaz\u00e9ification Int\u00e9gr\u00e9e \u00e0 Cycle Combin\u00e9 (IGCC) \u00e9quip\u00e9e d&#039;un captage du CO<sub>2<\/sub> du gaz interm\u00e9diaire, gaz qui par injection sous-terraine servira \u00e0 accro\u00eetre la r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration de p\u00e9trole (EOR).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/clabedan.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d83451b18369e20120a69bd3b2970c-pi\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IGCC_Siemens\" class=\"asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d83451b18369e20120a69bd3b2970c \" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.thesocialmedia.com\/leblogenergie\/files\/2012\/07\/6a00d83451b18369e20120a69bd3b2970c-450wi.jpg\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>&#160;L&#039;objectif de GE est de <strong><span>capter 90% du gaz carbonique<\/span><\/strong> form\u00e9 lors de la transformation, par l&#039;oxyg\u00e8ne et l&#039;eau, du carbone en CO<sub>2<\/sub> et H<sub>2<\/sub>. Ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9 complexe et on\u00e9reux en capitaux, permet par purification du gaz interm\u00e9diaire de respecter les contraintes environnementales les plus strictes et permet d&#039;acc\u00e9der par combustion de l&#039;hydrog\u00e8ne \u00e0 tr\u00e8s haute temp\u00e9rature dans la turbine \u00e0 des rendements \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques acceptables (60% pour la combustion du gaz auxquels il faut d\u00e9falquer l&#039;\u00e9nergie n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 produire et purifier ce gaz). Mais il n&#039;est pas \u00e9conomiquement \u00e9vident que les co\u00fbts de la production d&#039;oxyg\u00e8ne, de la purification des gaz et du captage du dioxyde de carbone permettent de d\u00e9velopper un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 comp\u00e9titif par rapport \u00e0 la simple combustion du gaz naturel. Bien s\u00fbr les prix relatifs du gaz et du charbon, pond\u00e9r\u00e9s des \u00e9missions de CO<sub>2<\/sub>, orienteront par la suite les choix \u00e9conomiques. GE n&#039;annonce pas la date de mise en route de cette unit\u00e9 qui devrait \u00eatre programm\u00e9e vers le milieu de la prochaine d\u00e9cennie.<\/p>\n<p>&#160;<strong><span>Remarque:<\/span><\/strong> GE avec <strong><span>Duke Energy<\/span><\/strong> sont en cours de d\u00e9veloppement d&#039;une centrale au charbon de type IGCC, de 630 MW, dans l&#039;Indiana.
