L&#039;ensemble conduit \u00e0 un robuste produit, capable d&#039;assurer <strong><span>6000 cycles<\/span><\/strong> de charge \u00e0 C et d\u00e9charge \u00e0 C. Ces performances inh\u00e9rentes \u00e0 la stabilit\u00e9 de l&#039;\u00e9lectrode n\u00e9gative au contact de l&#039;\u00e9lectrolyte, ce qui \u00e9vite la formation d&#039;une interface solide de passivation (sei), sont entach\u00e9es par le fait que l&#039;\u00e9l\u00e9ment d&#039;accumulateur ne pr\u00e9sente une tension que de <strong><span>2,4V <\/span><\/strong>soit les 2\/3 de la tension des accumulateurs au Lithium-Ion habituels. Toshiba pr\u00e9sente des batteries monoblocs de 12V (5 \u00e9l\u00e9ments en s\u00e9rie) et 24V (10 \u00e9l\u00e9ments en s\u00e9rie) avec des \u00e9nergies volumiques (63 \u00e0 75 Wh\/litre) et massiques (48 \u00e0 50 Wh\/kg) tr\u00e8s modestes. Pour Toshiba, malgr\u00e9 ces faiblesses, les qualit\u00e9s de puissance, d&#039;aptitude \u00e0 la charge rapide, de dur\u00e9e de vie en cyclage et de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 font de la gamme SCiB un produit d&#039;avenir. C&#039;est la raison pour laquelle ce grand Groupe nippon vient de d\u00e9cider de construire une nouvelle usine de production de batteries. Dans un premier temps, \u00e0 partir du printemps 2011, cette unit\u00e9 sera en capacit\u00e9 de produire 500 mille \u00e9l\u00e9ments (cells) par mois.<\/p>\n<p>&#160;Les march\u00e9s vis\u00e9s selon Toshiba sont toujours ceux des deux roues, des v\u00e9hicules hybrides et \u00e9lectriques ainsi que le stockage d&#039;\u00e9nergie en tampon des \u00e9nergies renouvelables de type solaire ou \u00e9olien. Vaste programme pour une seule technologie dont le CA devrait atteindre 2 milliards de dollars en 2015.<\/p>\n<p>&#160;Rappelons que Toshiba travaille avec Volkswagen (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.leblogenergie.com\/2009\/04\/volkswagen-en-phase-de-discussions-avanc%C3%A9es-avec-le-chinois-byd-au-sujet-de-batteries.html\" title=\"VW\">LIRE<\/a>) pour \u00e9quiper un petit v\u00e9hicule \u00e9lectrique.
