L&#039;op\u00e9ration commence par <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">l&#039;extraction du CO2 de ce gaz<\/span> que l&#039;on a pr\u00e9alablement refroidi, d\u00e9poussi\u00e9r\u00e9, d\u00e9sulfur\u00e9 et au moins partiellement d\u00e9shydrat\u00e9 et neutralis\u00e9, \u00e0 l&#039;aide de solvants ad&#039; hoc, peu volatils (ioniques) et inertes chimiquement. Par la suite il faut r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer et comprimer le CO2 en utilisant le minimum d&#039;\u00e9nergie. Quand au solvant apr\u00e8s un retraitement, il va \u00eatre recycl\u00e9 dans la boucle d&#039;extraction. Les allemands E-On et Siemens ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de s&#039;associer pour mettre au point et valider un tel proc\u00e9d\u00e9 qui serait mis \u00e0 la sortie des effluents gazeux des centrales thermiques existantes.<\/p>\n<p>&#160;Parfait me direz-vous!&#160; C&#039;est exactement ce qu&#039;il nous faut pour sauver la plan\u00e8te. Mais voila, il y a un hic: le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 n&#039;a \u00e9t\u00e9 test\u00e9 pour l&#039;instant qu&#039;en laboratoire. Alors E-On et Siemens annoncent qu&#039;ils d\u00e9marrent une unit\u00e9 pilote qui va tester le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 sur une d\u00e9rivation partielle des gaz d&#039;une chaudi\u00e8re de la centrale au charbon de Staudinger. Le planning pr\u00e9visionnel pr\u00e9voit que les tests vont \u00eatre r\u00e9alis\u00e9s jusqu&#039;en fin 2010.
