Al Crocker \u00e9tait un ing\u00e9nieur aimant la vitesse. Travaillant un temps pour Indian, il finit par d\u00e9velopper son propre moteur, et vers le milieu des ann\u00e9es 1930, il produisait ses propres machines avec un V-twin de 1500cm3, si rapide \u00e9tait la machime, qu&rsquo;il offrait de rembourser quiconque se ferait prendre de vitesse par un Indian ou un Harley. Oeuvre d&rsquo;artisans, ses machines produites \u00e0 la pi\u00e8ce tenaient plus de l&rsquo;orf\u00e8vrerie que de la production de masse. Malheureusement pour lui et son entreprise, la Deuxi\u00e8me Guerre mondiale vient changer la donne, et des probl\u00e8mes financiers mirent fin \u00e0 l&rsquo;aventure en 1942. Seulement une centaine de Crocker sortirent des ateliers en six ans de production, et aujourd&rsquo;hui, un Crocker en bon \u00e9tat et convenablement restaur\u00e9 peu aller chercher dans les 125,000 $ (90,000 euros).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.thesocialmedia.com\/leblogmoto\/files\/2012\/07\/crock2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"470\" height=\"156\"  src=\"http:\/\/www.leblogmoto.com\/images\/2007\/10\/21\/crock2.jpg\" alt=\"Crock2\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Et voil\u00e0 que le style Crocker revient en vogue. D&rsquo;abord, le nom revit gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crockermotorcycleco.com\/\">un enthousiaste<\/a> de Toronto qui refait le catalogue de pi\u00e8ces, une \u00e0 la fois, permettant la r\u00e9surrection de plusieurs machines. Mais c&rsquo;est surtout l&rsquo;abandon, par les cr\u00e9ateurs du \u00abmod\u00e8le unique\u00bb, du style californien avec chromes et pneus surdimensionn\u00e9s, pour une allure plus svelte et rac\u00e9e, presque minimaliste m\u00eame chez certains, qui donne le ton. Un bon indicateur est le \u00ab<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amdchampionship.com\/\">World and European Championship of Custom Bike Building<\/a>\u00bb se tenant \u00e0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sturgismotorcyclerally.com\/\">Sturgis<\/a> dans le Dakota du sud en concomitance avec la spectaculaire rencontre de motards se tenant dans cette ville en ao\u00fbt de chaque ann\u00e9e. Les gagnants de cette ann\u00e9e semblent pr\u00eats pour les pistes de terre battue.
