R\u00e9cemment l&#039;\u00e9quipe Norton \u00e9tait en tests sur le circuit de Donington avec leur NRV588 \u00e0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leblogmoto.com\/2008\/10\/wankel-et-le-pi.html\" target=\"_blank\">moteur \u00e0 piston rotatif<\/a>&#8230; <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"http:\/\/clabedan.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d83451b18369e201156fae6b4c970c-popup\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Norton NRV588 4\" class=\"at-xid-6a00d83451b18369e201156fae6b4c970c \" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.thesocialmedia.com\/leblogmoto\/files\/2012\/07\/6a00d83451b18369e201156fae6b4c970c-500wi.jpg\" \/><\/a> <\/span>&#160;<\/p>\n<p>Il y a une vingtaine d&#039;ann\u00e9es les moteurs \u00e0 piston rotatif, invent\u00e9s en 1924, avaient la cote en course moto mais aussi chez les voitures. Bien que beaucoup de constructeurs l&#039;aient essay\u00e9, seul Mazda produit encore des moteurs rotatifs en grande s\u00e9rie sur sa <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leblogauto.com\/2009\/03\/essai-mazda-rx-8-192ch-exterieur-1-4.html\" target=\"_blank\">Mazda RX-8<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><object height=\"344\" width=\"425\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/4-Ft9vzYFXU&amp;hl=fr&amp;fs=1\" \/><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><embed height=\"358\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/4-Ft9vzYFXU&amp;hl=fr&amp;fs=1\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"459\" \/><\/object><\/p>\n<p>En 1907, c&#039;est une Norton pilot\u00e9e par Rem Fowler et \u00e9quip\u00e9e d&#039;un moteur <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leblogmoto.com\/peugeot\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Peugeot<\/a>, un bicylindre en V de 736 cm3 qui remporte la premi\u00e8re course de l&#039;histoire du Tourist Trophy. La derni\u00e8re fois que Norton a gagn\u00e9 c&#039;\u00e9tait en 1992 avec un moteur rotatif. <\/p>\n<p> Bien qu&#039;il n&#039;y ait aucune comparaison possible, un moteur \u00e0 piston rotatif se rapproche plus du fonctionnement d&#039;un <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leblogmoto.com\/2009\/05\/zx-10r-2t.html\" target=\"_blank\">moteur \u00e0 2 temps<\/a> qu&#039;un moteur 4 temps car l&#039;explosion a lieu \u00e0 chacune des rotations du piston. Explosion tous les deux tours pour un moteur 4 temps. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/clabedan.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d83451b18369e201156faca883970c-popup\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"NRV588 03\" class=\"at-xid-6a00d83451b18369e201156faca883970c \" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.thesocialmedia.com\/leblogmoto\/files\/2012\/07\/6a00d83451b18369e201156faca883970c-500wi.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Les principales caract\u00e9ristiques d&#039;un moteur rotatif sont sa faible inertie, pas d&#039;encombrantes bielles, et un poids limit\u00e9.
