Le trac\u00e9 n\u2019offrit que peu de points de rep\u00e8re et il fallut encore franchir quelques cordons de dunes. Si la navigation fut cruciale, la gestion de la m\u00e9canique le fut plus encore en 2e partie d\u2019\u00e9tape. Sans avoir vu leurs assistances \u00e0 Tichit, les motos qui ont souffert depuis Atar le feront payer \u00e0 quelques pilotes, de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ktmcycles.com\/\">KTM <\/a>notamment.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/clabedan.typepad.com\/.shared\/image.html?\/photos\/uncategorized\/jvinters2_1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"250\" height=\"161\"  src=\"http:\/\/www.leblogmoto.com\/images\/jvinters2_1.jpg\" alt=\"Jvinters2_1\" style=\"margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px;float: left\" \/><\/a>Solide le h\u00e9ros du jour et un peu kamikaze ce pilote amateur Letton du nom de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.janisvinters.lv\/\">Janis Vinters<\/a> sur <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ktmcycles.com\/\">KTM<\/a>, qui se classa 10\u00e8me l\u2019an dernier. Parti de Tichit en 21\u00e8me position et malgr\u00e9 quelques chutes b\u00e9nignes, il a offert \u00e0 la <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pays-baltes.com\/lettonie\/riga.htm\">Lettonie <\/a>la 1\u00e8re victoire d\u2019\u00e9tape de ce petit pays balte sur un Dakar, en 6h08\u201951, au scratch comme dans la cat\u00e9gorie Marathon. Il laisse <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cyrildespres.com\/home.html\">Cyril Despres<\/a> \u00e0 7\u201931 et <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marccoma.com\/\">Marc Coma<\/a> \u00e0 7\u201953. <\/p>\n<p> Entre Tichit et Nema L\u2019espagnol a g\u00e9r\u00e9 son avantage au classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral en roulant sagement en t\u00eate de course durant les 494 km de la sp\u00e9ciale. Parti premier, arriv\u00e9 premier, sans pour autant signer le meilleur temps, il conserve cependant la t\u00eate du g\u00e9n\u00e9ral devant <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cyrildespres.com\/home.html\">Despres<\/a> \u00e0 54\u201936. Il est vrai que le fran\u00e7ais fut lourdement handicap\u00e9 par la panne de son d\u00e9rouleur de road-book et par une chute au kilom\u00e8tre 130, au pied du fameux rocher des \u00e9l\u00e9phants. La chevauch\u00e9e victorieuse de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marccoma.com\/\">Marc Coma<\/a> vers Dakar risquerait pourtant d\u2019\u00eatre quelque peu assombrie par les probl\u00e8mes de boite de vitesse rencontr\u00e9s par les nouvelles <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ktmcycles.com\/\">KTM<\/a>, en effet le hollandais Frans Verhoeven en a lui aussi \u00e9t\u00e9 victime au kilom\u00e8tre 198. de quoi inqui\u00e9ter le leader.<\/p>\n<p> Notons que c\u2019est un motard, <a href=\"http:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/St%C3%A9phane_Peterhansel\">St\u00e9phane Peterhansel<\/a> en Mitsu qui vient de prendre la t\u00eate des autos apr\u00e8s l\u2019effondrement du team WW et l\u2019incendie de turbo dont \u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 victime le leader Giniel de Villiers, au pied du m\u00eame rocher qui vit la chute de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cyrildespres.com\/home.html\">Cyril Despres<\/a>.
