Sous le titre \u00abHarley, tu ne rajeunis pas\u00bb, la journaliste trace un portrait en demi-teinte de l\u2019\u00e9tat financier et commercial du g\u00e9ant de Milwaukee.<\/p>\n<p> Apr\u00e8s avoir assur\u00e9 sa croissance en inondant le march\u00e9 avec une production de plus de 300,000 motos l\u2019ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re seulement, demand\u00e9 des prix plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s pour profiter du boom et offert des pr\u00eats sans int\u00e9r\u00eats pour attirer encore plus la client\u00e8le, Harley-Davidson se retrouve maintenant sur la face cach\u00e9e de la lune. Avec des chiffres de ventes en d\u00e9clins, qui voulait une grosse Harley l\u2019a d\u00e9j\u00e0, plusieurs de ses, jadis heureux, propri\u00e9taires ne pouvant plus rembours\u00e9s le pr\u00eat contract\u00e9 aupr\u00e8s de Harley-Davidson Financial Services, service lui-m\u00eame en difficult\u00e9, car les 2,8 milliards de dollars qu\u2019il g\u00e8re sont emprunt\u00e9s aupr\u00e8s d\u2019institutions financi\u00e8res elles aussi en difficult\u00e9s, et un H-D qui semble dans l\u2019impossibilit\u00e9, \u00e0 moins que ce soit une question de volont\u00e9, de s\u00e9duire une nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de motards, peu attir\u00e9 par les gros cruisers et la mystique rebelle des Hell\u2019s Angels et du film Easy Rider (ne pas croire qu\u2019une s\u00e9rie comme Sons of Anarchy repr\u00e9sente une quelconque r\u00e9alit\u00e9, elle arrive bien apr\u00e8s la vague, comme la s\u00e9rie The Sopranos sur la mafia arrivait bien apr\u00e8s que les films de Coppola et Scorsese en aient vid\u00e9 toute la moelle), H-D se retrouve \u00e0 un carrefour plut\u00f4t p\u00e9rilleux.<br \/>Le temps presse, et plut\u00f4t que de prendre d\u2019importantes d\u00e9cisions, on pr\u00e9pare la passation du pouvoir, laissant ainsi languir un Buell qui du coup cherche \u00e0 s\u2019\u00e9manciper, et un MV Agusta attendant dans ses terres europ\u00e9ennes que l\u2019Am\u00e9rique se d\u00e9cide.<\/p>\n<p>Et du coup, la seule r\u00e9ponse que Harley-Davidson semble pouvoir donner en ce moment est toujours la m\u00eame ritournelle, nous avons raison, nos produits sont les meilleurs, ils sont les meilleurs parce qu\u2019Am\u00e9ricain, et si vous \u00eates de bons Am\u00e9ricains, vous allez acheter nos produits. Le chantage \u00e9motif et le patriotisme ont leurs limites, et encore faut-il en avoir les moyens pour y c\u00e9der.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mvagusta.com.au\/welcome\/page72.php\">Jim Ziemer<\/a>, le P.D.G. se retire cette ann\u00e9e, tout comme le patron des finances Saiyid Naqvi, qui n\u2019aura pas fait deux ans \u00e0 la compagnie. La rel\u00e8ve de la garde va se retrouver avec d\u2019importants d\u00e9fis \u00e0 relever, non seulement financier, le titre <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/finance?q=NYSE:HOG\">HOG<\/a> a perdu 70% de sa valeur en quelques mois (avis aux investisseurs pas trop frileux et patients), mais aussi au niveau de la culture de l\u2019entreprise.<br \/>Le catalogue Harley m\u00e9rite un renouvellement radical, et il ne s\u2019agit pas de tourner le dos \u00e0 son fabuleux h\u00e9ritage, mais il ne faudrait pas que ce dernier soit un frein \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9volution n\u00e9cessaire pour assurer sa p\u00e9rennit\u00e9.<br \/>Le moteur, si je peux me permettre cette facile analogie, de ce changement est d\u00e9j\u00e0 dans sa cour avec Buell et MV Agusta.
