Pour revenir aux sources du rallye-raid en favorisant la navigation au d\u00e9triment d&rsquo;un sprint entre points impos\u00e9s, les organisateurs ont en effet supprim\u00e9 la notion de &quot;couloir XTE&quot; qui existait l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re. L&rsquo;\u00e9cran du GPS indiquait l&rsquo;\u00e9cart par rapport \u00e0 la route id\u00e9ale, et les concurrents pouvaient m\u00eame \u00eatre p\u00e9nalis\u00e9s lorsqu&rsquo;ils s&rsquo;\u00e9loignaient de plus de 3.3 kilom\u00e8tres de cette route.&nbsp; &nbsp; <\/p>\n<p> Ca a notamment pouss\u00e9 le regrett\u00e9 Meoni \u00e0 dire, alors m\u00eame qu&rsquo;il \u00e9tait en t\u00eate de la course : &quot;They said that we would have lots of navigation and while we have less GPS points the new XTE system and the 3.3 km corridor cancels that all out. It means it is difficult to make the break&quot;.<br \/>M\u00eame les plus fach\u00e9s avec l&rsquo;anglais n&rsquo;auront je pense pas besoin de traduction concernant le fait que Meoni regrettait l&rsquo;utilisation de ce corridor (dont la largeur r\u00e9elle \u00e9tait en fait de 6.6 kms &#8211; 2 fois 3.3 &#8230;), rendant plus difficile la possibilit\u00e9 de faire le break. <br \/>Cette ann\u00e9e, donc, exit le syst\u00e8me XTE. Le GPS se contentera d&rsquo;indiquer un cap, jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 ce que les pilotes se rapprochent \u00e0 moins de 3 kms des WPM, les fameux points de passage &quot;masqu\u00e9s&quot; obligatoires. Il se r\u00e9activera seulement \u00e0 ce moment, donnant alors aux pilotes les indications n\u00e9cessaires pour que leur passage \u00e0 moins de 200 m\u00e8tres des WPM soit valid\u00e9.
