Motoris\u00e9 par monocylindre 4 temps directement emprunt\u00e9 \u00e0 la moto enduro, ce quad a su montr\u00e9 toute sa fiabilit\u00e9. En 2005, Suzuki a voulu pousser les performances et la qualit\u00e9 de son 400 un peu plus loin. L\u2019arbre \u00e0 cames a donc \u00e9t\u00e9 revu et un nouveau carburateur de 37 mm \u00e9quip\u00e9 du syst\u00e8me TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) a \u00e9t\u00e9 install\u00e9 pour optimiser le rendement du moteur. La bo\u00eete de vitesses \u00e0 5 rapports s\u2019est vu \u00e9quip\u00e9 d\u2019un nouveau s\u00e9lecteur alu. Le ch\u00e2ssis a \u00e9t\u00e9 aussi nettement am\u00e9lior\u00e9 avec un nouveau mono-amortisseur enti\u00e8rement r\u00e9glable \u00e0 l\u2019arri\u00e8re et de nouveaux amortisseurs avant \u00e0 bonbonnes s\u00e9par\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019avant. <br \/> C\u00f4t\u00e9 moteur, on trouve un monocylindre 4T, 4 soupapes, refroidi par eau, cylindr\u00e9e de 398 cm3.<br \/> La transmission s\u2019effectue par un sch\u00e9ma 4X2 par cha\u00eene.<br \/> Bo\u00eete de vitesse : 5 rapports et marche arri\u00e8re.<br \/> C\u00f4t\u00e9 cycle, le treillis tubulaire en acier est \u00e9quip\u00e9 d\u2019une suspension avant : ind\u00e9pendante \u00e0 doubles triangulations, amortisseurs r\u00e9glables avec un d\u00e9battement de 215 mm.
