Motoris\u00e9 avec un monocylindre issu du XT 660 R, Il est vif, joueur et r\u00e9actif sans \u00eatre violent dans ses r\u00e9actions. Pour la premi\u00e8re fois un quad YAMAHA est \u00e9quip\u00e9 du syst\u00e8me d&rsquo;injection \u00e9lectronique am\u00e9liorant ses performances et garantissant une r\u00e9ponse optimale d\u00e8s l&rsquo;ouverture des gaz. Le ch\u00e2ssis  du 700 R utilise un nouveau cadre hybride (aluminium moul\u00e9 et acier) pour assurer une plus grande l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9 et une plus haute rigidit\u00e9. Efficace, confortable gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 de nouvelles suspensions avants, de nouveaux bras et rotules de suspensions issus du YFZ 450 et une nouvelle selle,  le 700 R vous ouvre de nouveaux horizons.<br \/> C\u00f4t\u00e9 moteur, on trouve un monocylindre 4T, injection, refroidi par eau . D\u2019une cylindr\u00e9e de 686 cm3, il offre une puissance de 48 ch \u00e0 6000 tr\/mn.  <br \/> La transmission s\u2019effectue par un sch\u00e9ma 4X2 par cha\u00eene.<br \/> Bo\u00eete de vitesse : 5 rapports et marche arri\u00e8re.<br \/> C\u00f4t\u00e9 cycle, le cadre alu et acier est \u00e9quip\u00e9 d\u2019une suspension avant : ind\u00e9pendante \u00e0 doubles triangulations superpos\u00e9es, amortisseurs hydrauliques.
