Caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par une s\u00e9rie d\u2019am\u00e9liorations significatives pour sa version 2006, elle offre aujourd\u2019hui un excellent potentiel au niveau de ses performances, de sa maniabilit\u00e9 et de sa fiabilit\u00e9.<br \/> C\u00f4t\u00e9 moteur, on retrouve le 4 temps a refroidissement liquide, double arbre \u00e0 cames en t\u00eate de 249 cc largement rod\u00e9 par St\u00e9phane Peterhansel, Peter Bergvall et plus r\u00e9cemment par St\u00e9fane Merriman avec quatre victoires obtenues entre 2001 et 2004. Cependant, Yamaha fier de son palmar\u00e8s, a apport\u00e9 \u00e0 son moteur un certain nombre d\u2019innovations tel qu\u2019une nouvelle bougie, un nouveau syst\u00e8me d\u2019admission d\u2019air ainsi que des modifications associ\u00e9es \u00e0 la culasse qui passe \u00e0 cinq soupapes, le CDI, le passage d\u2019air dans le carburateur et les r\u00e9glages de carburation. <br \/> Si en fait le moteur a peu \u00e9volu\u00e9, le ch\u00e2ssis a lui subit une refonte quasi g\u00e9n\u00e9rale.<br \/> La fourche s\u2019est vue \u00e9quip\u00e9e de nouveaux \u00e9l\u00e9ments sp\u00e9cifiques \u00e0 l\u2019enduro pour une plus grande souplesse d\u2019utilisation et un plus grand confort du pilote. De nouveaux amortisseurs arri\u00e8re et une nouvelle selle viennent encore am\u00e9liorer le confort g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la WR250F.
