En effet, la pluie s\u2019est immisc\u00e9e dans la course au titre entre Corser et Vermeulen durant la 1\u00e8re course mais surtout pendant la 2\u00e8me course puisque celle-ci n\u2019a pas eu lieu pour cause de piste impraticable. C\u2019est bien dommage car le duel \u00e9tait palpitant entre les deux pilotes car Vermeulen s\u2019est impos\u00e9 devant Corser durant la premi\u00e8re course apr\u00e8s un combat acharn\u00e9 jusque dans le dernier virage. Mais avec cette deuxi\u00e8me course annul\u00e9e Vermeulen ne peut math\u00e9matiquement plus conqu\u00e9rir le titre. Derri\u00e8re eux, Haga s\u2019adjuge la derni\u00e8re place du podium apr\u00e8s un mano \u00e0 mano avec Toseland qui a commis une petite faute de trajectoire. A signaler la tr\u00e8s bonne 5\u00e8me place d\u2019une Petronas FP1, moto qu\u2019on a pas l\u2019habitude de voir dans les gros points, pilot\u00e9e par Martin, et aussi la 8\u00e8me et 9\u00e8me respective des fran\u00e7ais Gimbert et Laconi. Dommage que R\u00e9gis Laconi ait \u00e9t\u00e9 g\u00ean\u00e9 par sa blessure en course car il s\u2019\u00e9tait class\u00e9 2\u00e8me sur la grille de d\u00e9part. Troy Corser est donc le nouveau roi de la discipline Superbike pour la seconde fois puisqu\u2019il avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 remport\u00e9 le titre en 1996.
