Auteur de la p\u00f4le, Capirossi a longtemps lutt\u00e9 avec Biaggi pour la premi\u00e8re place mais s\u2019est finalement impos\u00e9 de peu. La course a aussi vu Rossi accrocher Melandri lors du 13\u00e8me tour, les deux pilotes ont abandonn\u00e9s et Melandri s\u2019est bless\u00e9 dans l\u2019affaire tandis que le titre de champion du monde de Rossi annonc\u00e9 pour cette course a \u00e9t\u00e9 repouss\u00e9 \u00e0 Sepang. Motegi a \u00e9t\u00e9 une course \u00e9prouvante pour tous les pilotes et machines, seuls 11 participants ont boucl\u00e9 les 24 tours. Finalement, Capirrossi coiffe Biaggi suivi de Tamada, Checa et Hopkins puisque Gibernau et Barros ont aussi \u00e9t\u00e9 contraints \u00e0 l\u2019abandon.<br \/>Auteur d\u2019un fantastique mano a mano pour la victoire,&nbsp; Biaggi s\u2019explique : \u00ab <em>Nous avons fait du bon travail et, \u00e0 l\u2019issue de la journ\u00e9e, nous terminons en t\u00eate des pilotes Michelin et je dois dire que Capirossi \u00e9tait difficile \u00e0 suivre. J\u2019ai fait tout ce que j\u2019ai pu et ne pouvais faire mieux que deuxi\u00e8me dans cette course. Cela repr\u00e9sente beaucoup de points et nous finissons tout pr\u00eat du vainqueur. Je ne veux pas pointer Michelin du doigt et suis persuad\u00e9 que nous aurons notre revanche lors de la prochaine course. Les autres devraient y avoir un peu plus de mal. Mais c\u2019est la course et je suis bien o\u00f9 je suis, avec Michelin.
