Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une s\u00e9rie limit\u00e9e \u00e0 500 exemplaires pour l\u2019Europe baptis\u00e9e SP pour S\u00e9rie Sp\u00e9ciale.<br \/> Elle se distingue de la version normale par une nouvelle fourche dor\u00e9e \u00d6hlins et un nouvel amortissement \u00d6hlins enti\u00e8rement r\u00e9glable au moyen d\u2019une pr\u00e9charge hydraulique \u00e0 compression et d\u00e9tente \u00e0 l\u2019avant et d\u2019un syst\u00e8me pouvant modifier la hauteur d&rsquo;assiette sur 10 mm \u00e0 l\u2019arri\u00e8re.<br \/> De plus, cette R1 SP dispose d\u2019un embrayage anti-dribble qui permet de fortes d\u00e9c\u00e9l\u00e9rations sans se retrouver par terre. La SP profite des am\u00e9liorations au niveau moteur et partie-cycle du mill\u00e9sime 2006.<br \/> D\u2019un point de vue esth\u00e9tique, la SP se dotent de magnifiques jantes en aluminium forg\u00e9 Marchesini dor\u00e9es \u00e0 rayons en Y, dessin inaugur\u00e9 sur les YZR M1 courant en MotoGP, qui permettent un gain de 400 g par rapport \u00e0 des jantes de base. On note aussi une teinte noire du plus bel effet et de nouveaux silencieux d\u2019\u00e9chappement dor\u00e9s.
