Sa ligne n\u2019est en rien ostentatoire et reste discr\u00e8te m\u00eame si on devine un temp\u00e9rament sportif.<br \/> En effet, elle se caract\u00e9rise par une motorisation 4 cylindres en ligne 4 temps \u00e0 injection \u00e9lectronique refroidi par eau et b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiant d\u2019une lubrification \u00e0 carter sec. Ce moteur \u00e0 4 soupapes par cylindre d\u2019une cylindr\u00e9e de 1157 cm3 d\u00e9veloppe 167 ch \u00e0 10 250 tr\/mn pour un couple de 130 Nm \u00e0 8 250 tr\/mn. Elle devient ainsi la moto BMW la plus puissante de l\u2019historie de la marque. La partie-cycle se compose d\u2019un cadre p\u00e9rim\u00e9trique en aluminium, d\u2019une suspension avant Duolever \u00e0 deux bras oscillants parall\u00e8les sans guidage t\u00e9lescopique, d\u2019une suspension arri\u00e8re Paralever, d\u2019un frein avant 2 disques de 320 mm avec \u00e9triers \u00e0 4 pistons et d\u2019un frein arri\u00e8re \u00e0 disque de 265 mm avec \u00e9trier \u00e0 2 pistons. La K 1200 S est aussi dot\u00e9e en s\u00e9rie de l\u2019ABS Int\u00e9gral qui lui autorise un freinage serein en toutes circonstances. De plus, l\u2019ABS est doubl\u00e9 d\u2019un servo-frein \u00e0 pompes \u00e9lectro-hydrauliques autorisant le freinage \u00e0 2 doigts pour actionner le levier, \u00ab <em>une l\u00e9g\u00e8re pression on a l&rsquo;impression d&rsquo;avoir ouvert un parachute de freinage <\/em>\u00bb dixit le constructeur. Malgr\u00e9 son poids de 222 kg \u00e0 sec, la BMW peut s\u2019envoler jusqu\u2019\u00e0 275 km\/h en vitesse maxi. Le moteur pousse tr\u00e8s fort, moins qu\u2019une Hayabusa quand m\u00eame, et on se retrouve vite fait \u00e0 une vitesse prohib\u00e9e sans s\u2019en rendre compte puisque l\u2019a\u00e9rodynamique a \u00e9t\u00e9 soign\u00e9e avec un car\u00e9nage et une bulle qui assurent une protection optimum.<br \/> Revenons \u00e0 la partie-cycle qui innove avec la suspension avant Duolever qui est form\u00e9e de 2 bras longitudinaux parall\u00e8les articul\u00e9s sur le cadre, ceci apporte plus de pr\u00e9cision \u00e0 la roue avant, donc de surcro\u00eet plus de pr\u00e9cision dans la direction et une meilleure stabilit\u00e9. De plus, BMW innove encore en permettant le r\u00e9glage de l\u2019amortissement par un simple bouton sur le guidon : mode \u2018confort\u2019 ou \u2018sport\u2019 au choix. Vous pourrez donc r\u00e9gler votre moto suivant vos envies. Tout comme le pare-brise, le guidon, les reposes-pieds, le s\u00e9lecteur de vitesses et la selle qui se r\u00e8glent en fonction des besoins et de la morphologie du pilote.
