Les actrices plantureuses, mais tout de m\u00eame prudes d\u2019Hollywood ne pouvaient rivaliser avec son charme de \u00abgirl next door\u00bb pr\u00eate \u00e0 toutes les fantaisies.<\/p>\n<p>Sa cons\u00e9cration fut la page centrale de Playboy en 1955 (en M\u00e8re No\u00ebl rien de moins), ainsi qu\u2019une convocation, sans suite, devant une commission s\u00e9natoriale sur la pornographie.<\/p>\n<p>Au sommet de la gloire, mais en en subissant la pression, elle se retira des affaires. D\u00e9pression, mariages rat\u00e9s, violence, internement, les ann\u00e9es 70 ne furent qu\u2019une succession de mauvais r\u00eaves. Mais \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 80, l\u2019image de Bettie Page redevint \u00e0 la mode, lentement mais s\u00fbrement, et une d\u00e9cennie plus tard, Internet aidant, ce fut de nouveau l\u2019apoth\u00e9ose. Mais c\u2019\u00e9tait la Bettie des ann\u00e9es 50 qui faisait toujours recette, la vielle dame demeurait secr\u00e8te, voulant figer dans le temps une image d\u2019elle-m\u00eame qui \u00e9tait son seul beau souvenir.<\/p>\n<p>Non seulement sa superbe fit \u00e9cole, un film \u00ab<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thenotoriousbettiepage.com\/\">The Notorious Bettie Page<\/a>\u00bb en 2006 lui rendait hommage et la Jenny Blake (Betty dans la b\u00e9d\u00e9) du <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Rocketeer_(film)\">Rocketeer<\/a> n\u2019\u00e9tait rien d\u2019autre qu\u2019une jeune Bettie, celle d\u2019avant la frange.
