Une Girder est, dans sa construction classique, compos\u00e9e de 2 bras en triangle reli\u00e9 \u00e0 un ou deux ressorts attach\u00e9s \u00e0 une structure articul\u00e9e au niveau de la colonne de direction. Certaines versions modernes utilisent une seule imposante section comme pour le Wraith de Confederate. Vincent \u00e0 son \u00e9poque en \u00e9tait venu \u00e0 marier une Girder avec un syst\u00e8me hydraulique, justement nomm\u00e9 Girdraulic. Ce syst\u00e8me conf\u00e9rait plus de rigidit\u00e9 lat\u00e9rale, surtout bienvenue en figuration side-car.<\/p>\n<p>Bon nombre de choppers se retrouvent avec ce type de fourche, pour le look \u00abold school\u00bb appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 des nostalgiques. Il y a, par contre, certaines pr\u00e9cautions \u00e0 prendre. Le chrome en abondance chez les choppers peut s&rsquo;av\u00e9rer probl\u00e9matique si l&rsquo;unique ressort du Girder est lui aussi chrom\u00e9. Ce processus modifie l&rsquo;int\u00e9grit\u00e9 mol\u00e9culaire du m\u00e9tal, et si ce n&rsquo;est pas fait dans les r\u00e8gles de l&rsquo;art, le ressort peut casser, et dans le cas du Girder, je vous laisse imaginer les d\u00e9g\u00e2ts. Autres probl\u00e8mes rencontr\u00e9s chez les choppers sont un important guidonnage \u00e0 haute vitesse et une maniabilit\u00e9 parfois probl\u00e9matique, ce qui fait de ces motos des b\u00eates de d\u00e9fil\u00e9s, tout en superficialit\u00e9s.
