Bob Lutz was right: global warming is horseshit

Corvette blanche suspendue More and more proof is coming over the web that makes global warming look like the biggest hoax of the past five years! Here is a link to the latest comments and news about the "Climate Gate"! Developping countries are now furious and stating that global warming was all made up by the rich nations to burden the poor in order to slow down or even prevent their industrial development and wealth! Seems like global warming is at least a good excuse to bring in new taxes and try to make us all drive tiny, slow and boring automobiles! Saint Bob Lutz, please rescue us from this insanity!

Pescarolo racecars and spares now built by OAK Racing

Pneus chauffes Green Box sur LMP2 OAKOAK Racing takes over as Pescarolo Sport LMP1/LMP2 as manufacturer! OAK Racing has reached an agreement with Pescarolo Sport (formerly Sora Group) to take over the manufacturing side of its business.  Consequently, the development and construction of the chassis, bodywork and spare parts of the Pescarolo LMP1 and LMP2 prototypes is assumed by OAK Racing, as well as all commercial activities. The technical development of the prototypes will come in collaboration with the engineering office of Pescarolo Sport.

Work has already started and a programme of wind tunnel testing is planned for January to ensure that the prototypes are configured for the 2010 regulations and to continue the aerodynamic development undertaken in 2009.

Jacques Nicolet, President of OAK Racing: “This agreement allows us to proceed with the development of all the existing chassis and, in particular, to continue the search for more performance. We have strong ties with the brand and the spirit behind the creation of these cars and we absolutely want to continue that. This is a new challenge for OAK Racing. We take on this task with the same dedication and efficiency that we have showed so far, and with the technical support of the men of the Pescarolo Sport design department. Pescarolos are very good cars which demonstrate their qualities every season and I am sure they have a big future ahead of them.”

V8 and Ford Capri: only in South Africa

Perana frod capri 2Here is the Capri that most european fans often dreamed that Ford Germany should have built. Basil Green Motors, a Ford dealership in Johannesburg, South Africa, showed that a 302 V8 could be fitted with no major surgery. Basil was already know for his powerfull Cortina V6 conversion, so the Capri V8 was a logical step in the same direction. The resulting muscle machine was rightfully named the Perana! The Perana Capri was even raced nationaly with great success by Team Gunston. The pristine example here belongs to Mr. K. from beautiful Switzerland.

Here is another local celebrity (no, not that girl in the blue tiger bikini but she sure looks sharper than the other trophy queens that we saw so far…) from Langley Speedway. Looking at these pictures that keep coming in from Bud Bussiere, I wonder if what they had at Langley, was more like a demolition derbies than races.

The Langley Speedway photo album: Back in the Day

108 langley canada Bud Bussiere sends us some phantastic pictures back from the 70s and early 80s when Langley Speedway was a busy British Columbia track. The cars mostly look like Street Stock and some like Late Model Sportsman, so most drivers are only of local fame. may look like they just escaped from the local junkyard only to be back there again after a season or two of typical short track fender banging and rubbing. We sure hope to see so much action back there again soon! In the meantime, here are the pictures for you top enjoy. While the trophy queens are not as well tanned and curvy as Linda Waughn and the drivers not as cool as David Pearson, the spirit is sure threre!
