The definitive version, called Q7, will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show, in October.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span>Offering accommodation for 7 people, this 4.85-meter long SUV, drawn by Walter De Silva, will compete with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hebig.org\/blogs\/archives\/main\/001925.php\">BMW<\/a> X5, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carbuyersnotebook.com\/archives\/2005\/05\/mercedes_m-clas.htm\">Mercedes ML<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/internationalentertainment.blogspot.com\/2005\/05\/lexus-and-paul-mccartney-partner-for.html\">Lexus<\/a> RX 300, <a href=\"http:\/\/dr1ver.net\/blog\/?p=20\">Range Rover<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/truckspy.blogspot.com\/2005\/06\/high-dollar-german-suv-shootout.html\">Volkswagen<\/a> Touareg, with which it will share its platform.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span>The Q7 should be powered by the well-known 3.2 V6, 4.2 V8, and 5.0 V10 TDI. A twin-turbo evolution of the 4.2 seems to be underway, and it might develop about 500bhp. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span>To avoid direct competition with the Touareg, the big Audi will be more expensive, with a basic price of \u00a332,000 at least, and more refined.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Audi intends to sell the Q7 in the <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">US <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">mainly \u2013 the biggest market for SUVs\u2013 and will launch it there early 2007.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Audi had given a hint of its new SUV 2 years ago, with a concept car called Pike\u2019s Peak.
